About this collection
I believe a dancer's body is their primary instrument, and it requires specific care that a standard gym routine just cannot provide. We focus on functional training—integrating Yoga, Pilates, and Kalaripayattu—to build the deep core strength and joint mobility you need for sustained performance. Whether you are struggling with posture or want to prevent common injuries, we look at your alignment to help you move without strain.
For years, I have seen dancers train until they hit a wall. Whether it is the recurring knee pain from repetitive tatkaars in Kathak or the lower back fatigue from maintaining an araimandi in Bharatanatyam, these are often signs that the body needs more than just dance practice. My approach at Rhythmotion is to treat dance conditioning as a vital extension of your training.
We move beyond the basics of fitness. In our specialized workshops and the Gatika online intensive program, we break down the mechanics of your movement. We use Pilates for core stabilization, Yoga for breath control and flexibility, and Kalaripayattu for agility. This is not about getting bulky; it is about building dance-specific endurance.
I work with you to understand your current practice level and physical hurdles. We look at alignment, weight distribution, and how to use the floor effectively. If you are a professional, we work on endurance for long stage sets. If you are a student, we focus on building the structural integrity needed to progress safely. You can join us in our Rustam Bagh studio in Bangalore or connect with us online for guided sessions.
