Transitioning from lane swimming to the open water requires a shift in mindset and strategy. We train you for the endurance, navigation, and unpredictable nature of river and sea swims.

Celebrating two of our masters swimmers, Pream Kamel and Govind Krishna, on their achievements in open water events in Mumbai and Goa. Their success showcases their incredible endurance and our specialized training.

Congratulations to Ashwin and Suman for their top ranks in the 3km open water swim at Gunjur Lake. This type of racing requires a different strategy and mental fortitude than pool swimming.

A double achievement in different disciplines. We celebrate M. Trisha Poorna Shree's pool medals alongside Ashwin Venkatakrishnan's success as a finisher in the Goa Naval Area Triathlon.

Happy World Swim Day! I'm honored to celebrate with Sucheta Deb Burman, the first Indian woman to complete a two-way swim across the Palk Strait. She is an inspiration for all our open water aspirants.

About this collection

Open water is completely different from staring at a black line in a pool. My training focuses heavily on 'sighting'—learning to lift your head to spot your next marker without breaking your stroke rhythm or losing speed, which is a skill even advanced pool swimmers often struggle with when they first enter the ocean.

While pool swimming is about precision and consistency, open water and marathon swimming demand adaptability. When you're in a river or the sea, you don't have walls to push off of or lines to follow, which is why our training shifts from pure speed to tactical endurance.

The Training Difference

We don't just swim laps; we prepare you for the variables. We work on your ability to breathe bilaterally, which is crucial when waves are only coming from one side. We also integrate 'sighting' drills into every session at our Wilson Garden and JP Nagar facilities so that looking for buoys becomes second nature.

From Bengaluru to the Open Sea

Our swimmers have successfully completed events in Mumbai, Goa, and even navigated the Palk Strait. Whether you are aiming for a 2km event or preparing for a multi-day river marathon, the strategy is specific. We break this down into:

  • Navigation: Maintaining a straight line in currents or choppy conditions.
  • Drafting: Learning how to swim efficiently in the slipstream of another swimmer to conserve energy.
  • Nutrition Strategy: Understanding what and when to consume during long-distance swims.
  • Mental Fortitude: Building the endurance to keep your stroke rate stable even when you are fatigued.

If you have a specific event on your calendar, let's talk about your race-day strategy. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or just want to finish strong, we will get you race-ready.
