Our Yoga Story: A Mother-Daughter Sadhana
We believe yoga is a lifelong journey of self-discovery, not a physical performance. Here is the heart behind our practice, where we share our bond, our Sivananda roots, and the simple joy of showing up on the mat together.
Meditation is the foundation of our practice and our teaching. In this photo, we are seated in Padmasana with Jnana Mudra, a simple yet profound practice we share in our sessions to help quiet the mind.
Here we are practicing Bakasana, or Crow Pose, by the water. Our shared sadhana is a dance between strength and grace, showing that yoga is a lifelong journey that can be started at any age.

About Our Story: A Mother-Daughter Sadhana
People often ask how a 54-year-old and her daughter manage to teach together without clashing. It works because we balance each other out—I bring the wisdom of 47-plus years of perspective, while Anushka brings the grounded energy of someone who left the corporate rush behind. Whether you are 20 or 60, our classes aren't about holding the perfect handstand. They are about finding your own pace in the Sivananda tradition, breathing through the stress of city life, and realizing that age is just a number. When you join us, you are not just learning a pose; you are learning how to be consistent and kind to your body.
Our Approach to Sadhana
For us, yoga is not about the deepest backbend or holding a handstand for minutes at a time. It is a sadhana—a daily practice for the soul. We teach traditional Sivananda Hatha yoga, which emphasizes slow, deliberate movements, deep breathing (pranayama), and guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra). This style is particularly effective for people who feel overwhelmed by the fast-paced nature of office life in Delhi.
Why the Mother-Daughter Duo?
We started this journey together because we saw a gap in the local yoga scene. Most classes felt either too competitive or too intimidating for the average person. My daughter Anushka and I decided to create a space that feels like a living room conversation.
- For the Beginners: If you have never touched your toes or if you feel 'stiff,' you are exactly who we want to teach.
- For the Corporate Professional: We know the desk-bound life intimately. We focus on opening the hips and shoulders—areas that store the most tension from sitting and typing all day.
- For the Curious: We incorporate Sanskrit philosophy not as a textbook lecture, but as a practical guide for how to handle life's daily challenges with a bit more equanimity.
Where We Practice
We split our time between private sessions, hosting intimate retreats in nature, and visiting offices across the National Capital Region for corporate wellness events. Our goal remains the same regardless of the venue: to help you leave the mat feeling a little lighter and clearer than when you arrived.
