About this collection
In our classrooms, fireless cooking is more than a simple activity. It is a structured exercise where children practice precise measuring, pouring, and mixing, which directly improves their fine motor control and concentration. Whether they are preparing bhel puri or assembling marie pops, they are learning to follow steps independently, a skill that translates back into their core academic work.
At Prayag Montessori, we believe the best learning happens when children are engaged in doing. Our fireless cooking sessions, held across our campuses in JP Nagar, Jayanagar, and Padmanabhanagar, are carefully designed to integrate with our hybrid CBSE-Montessori curriculum. By removing heat from the process, we remove fear, allowing even our youngest students to take complete ownership of their tasks.
Why Life Skills Matter
These activities are not just about food. They are about 'The Prepared Environment'—a key Montessori principle. When a child prepares Moong Dal Chaat, they are learning:
- Cognitive Sequencing: Understanding the order of steps required to complete a project.
- Fine Motor Development: Strengthening hand muscles through peeling, chopping, and mixing.
- Social Responsibility: Serving portions to peers encourages community and grace.
Beyond the Kitchen
We carry this philosophy of 'Learning by Doing' into our broader curriculum. Our goal is for children to develop critical thinking rather than just memorizing concepts. By working with real-world materials and managing their own workspace, students gain the confidence to handle academic subjects in the primary years. This focus on life skills ensures that when students eventually move to more abstract concepts in middle school, they already possess the patience, focus, and independence required to succeed.
Prayag Montessori
We are Team Prayag. For over two decades, we have moved past the traditional teacher-student dynamic to act as guides, walking alongside our children as they discover their potential. We focus on nurturing the whole child, blending CBSE academics with practical life skills that build real independence.
