Every champion starts with the basics. At Powerstar, we master every punch, kick, and block to build the discipline and precision that make a real fighter.

Powerful kicking drills. Each student lines up to practice their kicks on the pad, building strength and accuracy with every repetition.

We start with the basics. This video shows a class practicing fundamental punches and blocks in unison, building a strong foundation.

About Building the Foundation: Drills & Practice

Every kick and punch starts with perfect form. We don't just hit pads; we teach you how to turn your waist and align your leg for maximum power. My students practice these basics on EVA safety mats for hours, because in Taekwondo, your foundation is your best defense.

Building Real Power

Taekwondo isn't just about speed. It is about understanding your body. Whether we are practicing front kicks, roundhouse kicks, or basic blocks, the focus is always on technique first. When I teach, I ensure every student understands why they are moving a certain way. 'Kick मारते time' (while kicking) you have to turn your waist and keep your leg straight—that is how you generate power from your core, not just your muscles.

Our Training Environment

Fundamentals require repetition, but they also require safety. That is why we train in controlled, small-batch sessions using EVA foam interlocking mats. These mats provide the necessary grip for balance and cushioning for safe fall practice. We use clapper pads for accuracy drills, which gives students immediate feedback on their speed and precision.

The Role of Discipline

Every class, we start with the basics. We use Korean terminology—Charyeot for attention, Junbi for ready stance—because this tradition builds the discipline that stays with a child long after they leave the mat. We drill punches and stances until they become muscle memory. This is not 'time pass' for us. This is how we build champions from the ground up, one movement at a time.
