Printmaking and Painting Workshops
Slow down and explore the tactile worlds of cyanotype, etching, and miniature painting in our sunlit Pali Hill studio. No experience is required, just a curiosity to create.
Here, I'm with artist Andrea Fernandes, introducing our Cyanotype printmaking workshop. It's a fascinating process that combines a bit of science with art, and we guide you through every step to create your own series of conceptual prints.
This is Cyanotype printing, an amazing process where you literally paint with sunlight. We guide you from mixing the chemicals to composing your design, resulting in these stunning, deep blue art prints. Each one is a unique piece created by capturing light and shadow.
These are some moments from our Zinc plate etching workshop. It’s a relief printing technique where you learn about design and composition while preparing and etching your own metal plate to create prints.
We love exploring different scales of art. These miniature aquarelles, or watercolors, are from a workshop with artist Kripa. It’s amazing to see how much emotion and scenery can be captured in such a small space.
About Printmaking & Painting Workshops
You do not need an art background to walk away with a piece you are proud of. We keep our batch sizes small, usually under ten people, so our guest artists—who have years of practice in their specific craft—can guide you through the process step by step. Whether it is handling light-sensitive chemicals for cyanotype or working with fine detail in miniature watercolors, you are getting focused, hands-on time in a professional studio setting.
Our Approach to Art
At The Pottery Lab, we believe that making things by hand is a necessary break from the city's routine. We move away from the pressure of perfection, focusing instead on the calm that comes with slow, deliberate work.

Who This Is For
These sessions are for anyone in Mumbai looking for a creative outlet. You might be a complete beginner who has never held a brush, or an artist looking to learn a new technique.
