Mindful Clay & Tea Workshops in Bandra
A two-hour sensory journey that combines the stillness of tea brewing with the grounding act of sculpting clay, right here in Pali Hill.
I'm here with Khushboo Mehta, founder of Satori Tea, to talk about our 'Seen & Unseen' workshop. We combine the calming ritual of tea brewing with the grounding experience of sculpting clay to create a session of mindfulness and creativity.
About Mindful Clay & Tea Sessions
This session is about slowing down the pace of Mumbai. You will start with a guided tea brewing ritual led by Isha from Satori Tea, designed to center your senses and quiet the mind. Once you are in that space, you will move to the wheel or the table to sculpt with clay. It is not about mastering a technique in two hours, but finding that rare moment of stillness where your hands and your mind are finally in sync.
We created these sessions because we noticed that both pottery and tea rituals share a common thread: they force you to be present. In a city like Mumbai, where everything is fast and loud, finding a space to stop is rare.
We collaborate with Isha Mehta, a tea curator who weaves mindfulness into every brew, to help you transition from the rush of the outside world into the quiet of our studio. We do not just sit and drink tea, and we do not just throw clay. We use the sensory experience of tea to open up your creative flow, making the pottery portion of the workshop feel less like a task and more like a natural expression.
What to Expect
- The Ritual: We begin by exploring the art of tea brewing, focusing on the sensory details—the scent, the warmth, and the intentional movement required to prepare a perfect cup.
- The Clay: After the tea, you shift to clay. Whether you are working on the wheel or hand-building, the goal remains the same: to create something that feels like an extension of your own thoughts.
- The Atmosphere: Held in our light-filled, glass-walled studio in Pali Hill, these workshops are kept small to ensure everyone has the space to breathe and focus.
You do not need to be an artist to join. You just need to be curious. Whether you are looking for a break from your screen or a new way to connect with yourself, this collaboration is a gentle reminder that making things with your hands is one of the most therapeutic things you can do.
