My Journey: From 28 Kgs Overweight to a Healthier Life
Everyone starts somewhere. My own path to wellness wasn't about finding a magic pill; it was about reclaiming my health after a tough pregnancy by going back to the roots of Indian plant-based nutrition.
This collage is more than just a before and after. It's a story of a decade, from feeling lost in 2010 to finding my purpose in 2024. This journey taught me that believing in yourself is the first step to making any change happen.
I didn't just lose 28 kgs; I found a new version of myself. Giving up dairy was the first step that ended my bloating and constipation. This change opened my eyes to the variety of vegetables our Indian markets offer beyond just paneer, and it sparked my love for cooking.
My venture, KuKClean, was born from my own difficult pregnancy and my daughter's premature birth. It was a journey to heal myself and my child through food. Now, I live by a simple rule: I only sell what I eat, and I only eat what I would give my daughter.
My corporate journey was an important chapter. It taught me how to train and mentor others, a skill I use every day as a nutritionist. This graphic shows how my path from engineering to co-founding a food platform prepared me for my true calling.
Here is a timeline of my journey. From completing my B.Tech in 2005 to becoming a certified nutritionist in 2020 and starting my own brand in 2021, every step was a lesson that led me here.
This image captures what inspired me to pursue nutrition professionally. After losing 28 kgs through a plant-based diet, I knew I had to formalize my knowledge to help other women achieve the same healing and confidence.
This is the story of how an engineer redefined her relationship with food. My journey wasn't linear, but every experience, from my corporate job to motherhood, shaped my mission to promote clean, conscious eating.
My greatest strength is my commitment. This quote defines my approach to my own health and how I guide my clients. I believe in pouring my heart and soul into a goal until I achieve a result I am genuinely proud of.
Why did I pursue Computer Science? It seemed like a secure path, and honestly, I was unsure of other options. Little did I know that life had a different, more fulfilling journey in store for me.
I see challenges as hidden opportunities. This mindset has been the driving force behind my ability to navigate problems and find creative solutions, both in my personal health journey and as an entrepreneur.
About My Story: From 28 Kgs Overweight to a Healthier Me
When I was struggling with 28 kgs of post-pregnancy weight, I didn't need a fancy diet plan; I needed to stop overcomplicating my food. The biggest change wasn't adding superfoods, but simply relearning how to prep them—like soaking grains for better gut health or understanding which oils to ditch. It wasn't about restriction; it was about finally trusting the traditional Indian staples I had ignored for years.
My journey from a computer engineer to a nutritionist started in my own kitchen. After my daughter was born, I felt lost, heavy, and physically exhausted. Like many women, I tried all the quick fixes, but nothing stuck until I stopped looking at Western diet trends and started looking at what my dadi-nani actually ate.
I realized that my bloating and constipation weren't just 'post-baby' issues; they were signs that my body was fighting against processed foods and excessive dairy. Moving to a plant-based, local, and seasonal diet changed everything. I didn't just lose 28 kgs; I gained the clarity to build a lifestyle that I could actually sustain without starving.
Why This Approach Works
- No Crash Diets: I focus on habits, not restrictions. If you can't eat it for the rest of your life, don't start it for a week.
- Return to Roots: We leverage the power of dal, millets, and seasonal vegetables. Our traditional diet is already 'sasti-sundar-tikau' (affordable, beautiful, and durable).
- Holistic Living: Weight loss is just the side effect of healing your gut, improving your sleep, and managing stress.
This isn't about hitting a number on a scale; it's about reaching a point where you can look in the mirror and say, 'Mai apni favourite hu' (I am my own favorite). Whether you are struggling with PCOS, post-pregnancy weight, or just the daily fatigue of a modern, sedentary life, I am here to help you build a routine that works for your unique reality.
