I am 50, but I feel 28. My practice is all about breaking the myth that you need to be young or perfect to start. See how I mix animal flow, ashtanga, and aerial work to keep my body strong and my mind playful.

Outdoor yoga is the best. Here I am using a tree as a prop to practice a suspended forward bend. Nature is the ultimate yoga studio.

Trying to be like Spider-Man. I love to play around and have fun with my practice, like with this wall-crawling arm balance.

Flipping into fitness. A cartwheel is a great way to feel like a kid again and get a dynamic, full-body workout.

Outdoor yoga on the beach. There's nothing like practicing with the sound of the waves and the sun on your skin. Here's a flow from downward dog to a split.

A crocodile walk on the beach. This animal flow movement is a fantastic core and upper body workout, and it's even more challenging on the sand.

Don't wait any longer to start, because life doesn't wait. We don't stop moving because we are old; we get old because we stop moving.

Try this yoga flow. A simple sequence you can do anywhere to connect with your breath and move your body.

About My Journey & Inspiration: Practice, Progress, and Play

I don't believe in perfect poses. Whether I am practicing a flow on the beach or doing animal flow drills in the studio, the goal is always the same: keep moving, keep breathing, and stay curious. You will see me fail, wobble, and laugh in these clips, and that is exactly how progress happens. If you are waiting for the right time or age to get fit, this is your sign to start now.

Movement is my medicine. In my practice, I do not separate fitness from yoga. I mix animal flow, which builds raw, functional strength, with the discipline of Ashtanga and the freedom of aerial yoga. My approach is simple: strength and flexibility must grow together. You can be hyper-flexible but weak, or strong but stiff—neither is the goal.

Why I practice this way

I work with props, walls, and sometimes just the sand under my feet to keep my body guessing. My sessions are not just about holding a pose; they are about understanding how your body connects to the ground and how to move through space with control.

Can you do this too?

Yes. My students range from absolute beginners who cannot touch their toes to people looking to master headstands. I break everything down into manageable drills. If you are in Mumbai and looking for a different approach to wellness—one that focuses on longevity rather than vanity—come visit me at the Goregaon studio. We will work on your core, your mobility, and your confidence, regardless of your starting point.

I’m Pinky. I’m 50, vegan, and I am probably doing a handstand somewhere while you are reading this. I teach because I want you to feel as alive in your body as I do, regardless of what the calendar says.
