Yoga Practice and Progress Journey
Yoga isn't about snapping into a perfect pose on day one. It is about the hours of consistent, conscious practice that get you there. These photos document my own evolution on the mat—from stiff hips to newfound flexibility—proving that with patience, any body can grow stronger and more resilient.
This before and after of Fallen Flamingo pose shows the progress in my hip mobility from February to October 2021. My hips were once my tightest area, proving that diligent, conscious practice can create incredible openings.

This comparison shows my progress in Side Plank B (Vasisthasana) over one year. The improved stability and hip opening is a clear example of how the body becomes more resilient and receptive with steady practice.
About this collection
You do not need to be hyper-flexible to start. When we work together, we do not just focus on the end pose; we break down the mechanics using props like blocks, chairs, or even walls to ensure you are moving safely. Whether you are recovering from an injury or just starting, we adapt the practice to your body's current reality, not some idealized version of what a yoga pose should look like.
Building Strength Through Consistency
Many students come to me thinking they need to be 'flexible enough' to start. My journey, shown in these photos, proves the opposite. My hips were once the most rigid part of my body, and my early attempts at poses like the King Pigeon or even a simple Plough Pose were far from perfect. It took me years of consistent, conscious effort to find the length and stability I have today.
My Approach to Teaching
My classes are not about copying the person on the screen. Whether we are doing Hatha for beginners or diving into an Ashtanga flow, the focus is on your specific mechanics:
- Safe Progression: We use props strategically. If you cannot reach the floor, we bring the floor to you. This builds confidence and prevents injury.
- Real-Time Feedback: In my live Zoom classes, I don't just broadcast a flow. I watch your alignment via gallery view and provide verbal adjustments by name, just as I would in an in-person session in Bangalore or Chennai.
- Injury Management: I have dealt with shoulder pain and setbacks myself. I know how to modify sequences to accommodate your unique physical history so you can practice without fear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior experience? No. My classes are designed for all levels. If you are willing to show up, you are ready to begin.
What if I have an injury? We will work together to find modifications. My private 1-on-1 coaching is specifically tailored to injury recovery and specialized needs, ensuring you progress at a pace that respects your body.
How do I track my progress? We celebrate the small wins. Just like in these progress photos, we look for improvements in your breath awareness, core engagement, and daily consistency rather than just the aesthetic shape of the pose.
Rhea Deepak
I am Rhea. I started my practice in 2019, stumbling through my first crow pose, and since then, I have learned that the real magic happens in the effort, not just the final result. I teach to help you find that same inner strength, guiding you through Hatha and Ashtanga flows that respect your limits while gently helping you expand them.
