We started in 2011 to create a space where art is about the process, not just the result. Discover the simple, soulful approach that guides every session at our Bangalore Gurukul.

Why "Pencil and Chai"? This video tells the story of our beginnings, from pioneering outdoor art workshops in Bangalore to creating a community where creativity brews, always with a pencil in one hand and chai in the other.

"How long will it take?" The truth is, it's up to you. There's no shortcut to becoming a professional artist. You practice until you get it. Stop counting the days and start making the days count.

Art isn't just a weekend affair. While workshops are exciting, a structured program gives you what they can't: depth, discipline, and direction. True art takes time, and you're worth the investment.

"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." This quote by Vincent Van Gogh perfectly captures our philosophy. Every small stroke contributes to the final masterpiece.

A throwback to our 2023 sessions. These mornings were filled with quiet focus and the sound of brushes on paper, a soulful pause from the rush of everyday life.

Every morning starts with new dreams and new art. This video captures the beauty of a traditional rangoli, a daily creative ritual that inspires us.

An identity style of watercolor painting by master artist Milind Mulick. We believe in learning from the masters and are inspired by their unique approaches to art.

Our students are in the process of turning raw ideas into something more creative. This image captures the beginning of that journey, the initial sketch before color is applied.

Art without limits. In our hobby classes, we provide one-on-one guidance even in a batch session, ensuring every artist gets the personalized attention they need to explore their chosen medium.

About Our Story & Philosophy

When you walk into our Jayanagar studio, you won't find air-conditioned rooms or tech-heavy setups. You will find communal wooden benches, natural sunlight, and a cup of chai waiting for you. This environment is intentional, designed to help you slow down and focus on the fundamentals—the brush strokes, the color mixing, and the quiet patience that true art requires.
