My Artist's Journey: Finding Joy in Every Stroke
Art isn't about perfection, it's about the feeling. Walk through my creative journey and see how we make art, messes, and memories together right here in Bangalore.
I used to feel like I wasn't a 'real' artist, but I've learned that being an artist is just about showing up and trying. My workshops are a judgment-free zone where you can show up, make mistakes, and have fun.
I was invited to be a judge for a collage-making contest at Christ University. It was an honor to see so much young talent and be a part of the local art community.
A behind-the-scenes look at me packing the goodie bags for a workshop. I put a lot of love into preparing for each session to make sure you have an amazing and seamless experience.
This is literally my plan on a Saturday night. For me, art is a form of therapy and my favorite way to spend my time. I hope to share that same sense of peace and joy with you.
About My Artist's Journey
Before you dive in, know that my workshops are strictly no-judgment zones. Whether we are painting a mason jar at a cafe or sketching in Cubbon Park, the focus is always on the gudgudaahat—that little tingling feeling of joy when you create something with your own hands. You do not need fancy skills or expensive supplies because I bring everything you need, so you can just show up, be a little messy, and let your creative spark do its thing.
Finding My Creative Spark
Many people ask me, Deeksha, I cannot even draw a straight line, can I really paint? My answer is always a huge yes. My own journey started with doubting if I was a real artist, skipping gallery invites, and feeling like an imposter. It took me a long time to realize that art is not about being perfect. It is about showing up, making a mess, and trying again. I started these workshops to share that realization with you.
What to Expect
My sessions are designed for absolute beginners. We keep things fun, chill, and inclusive. Here is how we break it down:
- Weekend Cafe Sessions: Perfect for solo dates or meeting new people. We usually do canvas, glass, or tote bag painting.
- Outdoor Meetups: We hit up places like Cubbon Park for low-pressure sketching and painting with gouache or acrylics.
- Private Parties: If you want a creative birthday or team-building activity, I bring the entire setup to your venue.
Why Join?
I provide all the supplies, from brushes to paints and the surface you will be working on. You just bring yourself and your crew. There is no pressure to create a masterpiece. Some days your art will rock, and some days it will be just a blob, and that is totally fine. We are just here to have a good time, chat, and maybe walk away with something cute to decorate your room.
