We don't teach from a distance. Our Gurukul style is based on sitting with you, guiding your hand, and correcting mistakes in real-time.

Our teaching philosophy in action. This video shows a live watercolor demo where I explain the technique for painting rocks, emphasizing patience and understanding the medium's properties.

One-on-one guidance is at the core of our teaching. Here, I am working closely with a student, offering personalized feedback to help her build true watercolor skill from the first wash to the final detail.

A quick demo during a watercolor session shows how we teach structured techniques. I explain how to correct mistakes immediately, ensuring students build both skill and confidence with every stroke.

An instructor guides a student through a still life painting of a pear. We use live demos and side-by-side practice to turn raw ideas into creative and polished artworks.

This compilation of classroom demos shows our hands-on approach. We break down techniques across different mediums, bringing the artistic process to life through direct instruction.

Here, I demonstrate basic brush strokes and color swatching. Mastering these fundamentals is the first step, and we provide close guidance to ensure every student starts with a strong foundation.

A student receives guidance on her brushwork. This close interaction is key to our method, as it helps correct habits and build good technique right from the start.

A slow, soft wash demonstration for a watercolor landscape. Our demos are designed to be clear and easy to follow, showing students how to create beautiful effects with simple techniques.

An instructor points out details on a student's floral watercolor painting. This kind of focused, individual feedback helps students refine their work and understand complex concepts.

Understanding color is fundamental. Here, I explain the color wheel to a student, a crucial lesson in our foundation courses that underpins all future painting work.

About Our Teaching Method: Hands-On Guidance

In our studio, we don't believe in just watching theory. When you are learning to paint—whether it is a watercolor wash or an acrylic blend—we show you exactly how to mix the pigment and hold the brush. If a stroke goes wrong, we don't just tell you; we show you how to correct it immediately, right on your paper. This is how you stop copying others and actually start owning your work.

Learning by Doing

Art isn't something you learn by reading a book. It is a physical practice. At our Jayanagar studio, we move away from traditional 'classroom' setups and focus on direct, hands-on instruction. You won't find us standing at a whiteboard while you struggle; we are sitting beside you, helping you find the right pressure, the right angle, and the right color balance.

Why We Avoid 'Copy-Paste'

Many courses focus on replicating a single finished image. We focus on technique. When you master how to blend acrylics or control a watercolor wash, you don't need to copy anyone. You gain the confidence to create your own compositions. We break down the 'how' so you can handle any subject, whether it's still life, portraits, or landscapes.

The Gurukul Environment

Our batches are kept small for a reason. Real feedback takes time and quiet. In our hybrid, non-AC environment, we provide the space for you to slow down. You are surrounded by other artists—some beginners, some advanced—all working on their own pace. Whether you are joining our foundation courses or advanced certification programs, the focus remains on personal growth.

What to Expect

  • Live Demos: We demonstrate techniques live, so you see the process from start to finish.
  • Immediate Feedback: We catch habits like 'scribbling' before they become muscle memory.
  • Structured Progression: From basic shapes to advanced textures, we follow a path that builds your observational skills.
  • Individual Attention: No one gets lost in the crowd. We check your progress at every session.
