Active Yoga Retreats in Nature
Step away from the city noise and take your practice to the mountains and forests. My retreats are about movement, breath, and finding your edge in the wild.
This is the feeling we chase on our retreats. Here, I am holding an Astavakrasana, or Eight-Angle Pose, on a balcony overlooking the vast mountains of Bhutan. An advanced arm balance like this requires focus and strength, and practicing it with the Himalayan air around you is a truly grounding experience.
A glimpse into our morning practice during a wellness retreat in Bhutan. We gather on a terrace with an open view of the Punakha valley and its winding rivers. Leading a group yoga session in such a majestic space allows us all to connect more deeply with our breath and each other.
A supported headstand, or Salamba Sirsasana, on the beach as the sun sets. This image represents the journey many of my clients take, building strength and confidence over time to achieve poses they once thought impossible. It’s about finding your edge and celebrating the progress, one breath at a time.
Yoga isn't just for the mat. Here, I'm taking a moment for a standing leg stretch on a bridge during a trek in Bhutan. Our retreats weave mindful movement into every part of the day, encouraging you to find moments of connection and release wherever you are.
Finding a moment of deep release with Suryayantrasana, or the Compass Pose, while surrounded by nature. A morning stretch outdoors is one of the best ways to wake up the body and quiet the mind before the day begins. This is what our jungle yoga sessions feel like.
About Featured
These retreats are not about sitting still in silence. Whether we are in the mountains of Bhutan or a nature belt like Coorg, I build our days around movement—daily Vinyasa flow, pranayama, and activities like hiking or rafting. You come here to switch off your phone, turn up the intensity, and practice in spaces that feel like the complete opposite of a city studio.
My retreats are designed for people who want a real adventure holiday rather than just a quiet break.
The Experience
Whether it is our 8-day Himalayan expedition in Bhutan or a 3-day nature weekend in places like Kabini or Chikmagalur, the goal remains the same: to disconnect from your routine. We start our mornings with active yoga and pranayama, often on open-air terraces or by a river. The days are filled with movement—trekking, rafting, or silent nature walks. This is not a passive holiday; you will be moving, stretching, and exploring the outdoors.
Who Should Join
You do not need to be a yoga pro. If you have a sense of fun, are curious, and want to challenge yourself physically and mentally, you will fit right in. I encourage all levels. We use props and modifications to ensure you can find your own version of the pose.
Logistics and Comfort
- Accommodation: We stay in boutique hotels, luxury homestays, or eco-resorts that place us right in nature.
- Food: All meals are included, with a focus on vegetarian, farm-to-table cuisine.
- Travel: For domestic trips, you manage your own transport to the venue. For Bhutan, we arrange private airport transfers and handle all permits.
It is about building a connection between your breath and your body, even when life throws curveballs. Stretch. Breathe. Repeat.
