My Story: Turning Traditional Recipes Into Mommade
I turned my love for cooking into a business at 75, bringing the authentic taste of home to your table. My kitchen is built on simple values—organic ingredients, no preservatives, and pure love.
This shares a little bit of my story. I started Mommade at 75, turning my passion for traditional cooking into a small business to share the authentic taste of home with all of you.
The taste of 'Maa ke Hath ka Achaar' is now just a phone call away. This is the feeling I want to share with every product I make.
About My Story: From My Kitchen to Yours
When I started this at 72, I didn't want to build a factory. I wanted to build a bridge to the flavours my grandmother taught me. Every batch of Panjiri or Aam Papad you see here is made exactly the way I prepare it for my own family, using organic jaggery instead of sugar and absolutely no artificial chemicals.
From Interior Design to the Kitchen
People often ask why I started a food business at 75. After a long career in interior design, I realized that while I loved creating beautiful spaces, my soul was always in the kitchen. When the world slowed down, I started sending comfort food to family. That is how 'Mommade' was born. It is my way of keeping our family traditions alive.
My Kitchen Philosophy
I believe in 'Maa ke hath ka swaad' (the taste of a mother's hands). That means:
- No Compromise: I use only organic ingredients. If I wouldn't feed it to my own grandchildren, I won't put it in a jar for you.
- Small Batches: I do not believe in mass production. Each jar of pickle or box of ladoos is made in small, fresh batches to maintain the integrity of the spices and the texture.
- Natural Sweeteners: I prefer organic jaggery or Khandsari over refined sugar. It gives a deeper, more rustic flavour without the guilt.
Getting Your Jar of Love
Whether you are looking for classic Panjiri for immunity or tangy Aam Papad for a tea-time snack, everything is made-to-order from my kitchen in Greater Kailash I. I ship across India, and for those in Delhi NCR, it is often easier to arrange a quick pick-up.
I treat every order as if I am packing it for my own family. My husband is my biggest critic, and if it passes his taste test, it is ready for your table. If you have specific dietary needs, like sugar-free requests, just ask. I am always happy to adjust my recipes to keep your health and taste in balance.
