I started Pikkle Shikkle at 60 to bring authentic ghar ka achaar to your table. Here is the story of how my home kitchen became a labour of love.

This business is my passion. I believe in honest, natural food, and I am proud to bring the real taste of Punjab to your home.

Pikkle Shikkle is a family affair. My husband and I work together to run the business, ensuring every customer feels like a part of our extended family.

Here I am packing an order for a customer at one of the night markets. I handle every purchase myself to make sure it's just right.

I was so happy to be featured by Digital Gone Easy. It was a wonderful chance to share my story and my passion for homemade Punjabi food with more people.

This beautiful drawing perfectly captures the spirit of Pikkle Shikkle. It shows the joy and community we build around good, honest food.

About Meet the Maker: My Story

My kitchen is in Nagavarapalya, and I always encourage folks to try a sample before buying. Whether it is my pinni or a jar of pickle, I want you to know exactly what you are getting—no preservatives, just the same ingredients I use at home for my family.

People call me the Punjabi Aunty of Pikkle Shikkle, and honestly, I love that. I started this whole thing when I hit 60 because I believe there is no retirement for me, just a fresh start. My kitchen is my playground, where I dig up old family recipes and whip up batches of homemade Punjabi pickles and jams.

My husband Ekbal and I run this together. He is often the one helping me pack jars or chatting with everyone at the Bangalore markets. We do not use any shortcuts. Everything is hand-made, sun-dried, and totally preservative-free. When you taste my Pinni Ladoos—whether it is the classic Aata or the Jaggery version—you are tasting the exact recipe my mother taught me. We source local veggies and fruits, treat them with care, and bottle them with honesty.

If you are in Bangalore, please do stop by. I believe that good food is best shared, and I would love for you to taste the real 'Tadka Punjab Da' before you commit to a full jar. Everything we make, from our dry kachori to our apple cinnamon jam, is an extension of our home to yours.
