My Heart in a Jar

I started 'Mommade' at 75, turning years of family recipes into pickles that remind you of home. What I make is all about Maa ke hath ka swaad (the taste of a mother's hands) and real, honest food.

  • Aam ka Achaar: I do the classic mango in Punjabi styles, shredded, and more.
  • Nimbu Achaar: Homemade lemon pickle, tangy or sweet and sour, depending on what you love.
  • Lehsun & Hari Mirchi: Garlic and green chilli pickles for those who like some heat.
  • Seasonal Specials: Crunchy gobi, gaajar, shalgam achaar (winter veg mix) and some healthy blends like amla-garlic-chilli.
  • Unique Flavours: Karela kairi (bitter gourd with mango), karonda (Bengal currant) - stuff you don’t find everywhere.

Why I Make It This Way

I want my pickles to be more than just a side - they're good for digestion, loaded with natural goodness like amla and turmeric. So, jee bhar ke khao (eat to your heart’s content), but yeah, if you're not a fan of bitter or spice, some flavours may not be for you. I keep it real, always.

My Story

People look at me funny when I say I kicked off MomMade at 72! Interior design was my life, but my soul hung out in the kitchen. Lockdown slowed things down, I started sending comfort food to family. My husband, a true foodie, always cheered me on. Matarani guides me, so I keep it pure - old-school recipes, organic stuff, no preservatives. What you get is maa ka pyaar (mother’s love) in every jar.

My Work
