The message on this pickle lid says "Beta aap garam khao, thandi mai kha lungi," a classic dialogue from every Indian mom. It's this love that I put in my pickles.
"Aap sab baitho mai khana laga deti hu." This is another one of my favorite mom dialogues that I've put on my pickle lids to bring a smile to your face.
"Aadhi roti nahi, puri khani padegi." When the pickle is this tasty, you can't help but eat a little more. This fun slogan is on my Gorkeri pickle jar.
About Straight from Our Heart
When I started Mama's Love, my only rule was: if I wouldn't serve it to my own kids, I won't sell it. That is why every jar here is made using cold-pressed mustard oil and pink salt, with absolutely zero artificial preservatives. It is a slow, traditional process that takes time, but that is the only way to get that authentic 'ghar ka swaad' that supermarket bottles just cannot replicate.
Why My Kitchen Is Different
You might have noticed that my pickle jars come with quirky messages on the lids like 'Beta aap garam khao, thandi mai kha lungi'. That is not just for fun; it is the vibe of my kitchen. I wanted to bring the warmth of a desi household to your pantry.
The Process:
- Traditional Preservation: I rely on the old-school saturation of oil and salt to keep the pickles fresh, not chemicals.
- Ingredient Integrity: I am very picky about suppliers. Only fresh, seasonal vegetables make the cut. If the mangoes or chillies don't meet my standard, I simply don't make that batch.
- Small Batches: I don't mass-produce in factories. Every batch is prepared in manageable quantities to ensure the texture stays perfect and the 'masala' hits just right.
