Parent & Toddler Music Classes
Introduce your child to the joy of music in an environment built on thirty years of classical tradition. Our parent-child sessions focus on foundational rhythm and sensory exploration.
A teacher shares a shaker egg with a young student. This simple interaction is a foundational step in introducing rhythm and sound exploration in a gentle, one-on-one setting.
A toddler is introduced to the triangle by her teacher. Our training covers how to safely introduce various percussion instruments, allowing children to explore different timbres and sounds.
A parent participates in the class, guiding her child with hand gestures while the child holds a shaker. Our programme emphasizes the value of involving parents to extend the musical learning experience into the home.
About For the Youngest Learners: Toddler & Parent Classes
These classes rely on the Kodály method to introduce musical concepts to children as young as one year old. We use sensory props like shaker eggs, scarves, and percussion instruments to develop a sense of rhythm and pulse. Because parents sit with their children throughout the session, the experience transforms into a bonding activity that you can easily replicate and enjoy together at home.
The foundation of our early music education lies in the belief that children learn best through play. We do not use formal lectures or rigid drills. Instead, our studio at Banoo Mansions in Kemps Corner is filled with movement, singing, and carefully selected percussion tools. Our teachers guide the group to focus on rhythm, pitch, and inner hearing, what musicians call audiation. This approach is designed to build a deep, intuitive love for music rather than academic pressure.
Parents are an integral part of this process. By actively participating in the class, you learn how to guide your child through musical exercises, creating a bridge between the studio environment and your home life. We keep group sizes manageable to ensure every child gets the attention they need. Whether your child is just beginning to clap to a beat or is ready to experiment with simple instruments like triangles and tambourines, these sessions provide the space to explore safely. This is the first step in our longer musical journey, and we have seen many students who started in these toddler sessions go on to pursue formal instrument training with our foundation later in life.
