About Classical Music Concerts & Events
Why We Do What We Do
For us, classical music is more than just a performance - it's a way to keep Mehli Mehta’s legacy alive in Mumbai. We’ve spent decades bringing Western classical music concerts in Mumbai, and every event is a mix of passion, tradition, and community. Sometimes things don’t go as planned - artists cancel, venues change, but we always find a way to keep the music playing.
What You’ll Experience
Our concerts are a blend of international orchestra performances, solo recitals, chamber music, and opera gala nights. You might catch the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra or hear legends like Lang Lang and Midori. We also host signature events, like celebrating Zubin Mehta’s 90th birthday or marking Puccini’s centenary with a night of his greatest arias. The vibe is global, but the audience is pure Mumbai.
Growing Talent
We’re big on student classical music showcases. Our students get real stage time, sometimes even sharing it with visiting orchestras. Annual concerts, youth choir performances, and ensemble recitals are all part of the mix. It’s not always easy - nerves, tough pieces, but seeing them shine is worth it.
Learning From the Best
When international musicians visit, we set up masterclasses with renowned musicians for our students. These sessions are rare and honestly, pretty inspiring. Young artists get direct feedback and tips from the pros.
Where It Happens
Most concerts happen at NCPA or Royal Opera House. The acoustics are top notch, but seats fill up fast. We also offer student discounts for many shows - just bring your ID and you’re sorted.

My Story
We’re the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, thirty years and still singing. Started as a tribute to Mehli Mehta and his son Zubin - honestly, if Zubin wasn’t around, we wouldn’t be either. Our book ‘Encore’ has all the memories. Watching kids go from Discover Music classes, tiny hands on instruments, to big moments on NCPA stage, that’s our joy. Sometimes legends drop by, sometimes our students play with orchestras, and it’s wild. Music’s in our bones, past and future.
