About In Conversation: Talks, Awards & Features
The work we do inside these walls is as vital as the buildings we construct. By transforming the old Ice Factory in Ballard Estate into IF.BE, we created more than a gallery; we built a public room for architecture. It is here that we host conversations with visiting masters like Peter Zumthor and curious students alike, testing our theories against the realities of urban discourse.
Architecture as Discourse
Our studio operates on the belief that design is not just a service, but a dialogue with the city. IF.BE serves as the primary vessel for this exchange. It represents an exercise in micro-urbanism and adaptive reuse, where we treat the 'found'—the industrial remnants of the past—and the 'made'—our new interventions—as a delicate suturing process. This is not about restoration in the static sense; it is about keeping the spirit of the space alive for future urban regeneration.
