About this collection

Awards like the IIA Commendation and features in ArchDaily mean more than just recognition to us. They validate the rigorous dialogue we maintain between modern needs and existing structures, confirming that our approach to adaptive reuse, like at the Solina Silk Factory, resonates with both the architectural community and the local context.

When we receive national recognition, it is rarely just about the final structure. It is an acknowledgment of the process that got us there. Whether it is the Commendation Trophy from the Indian Institute of Architects for our work on the Nirbhaya Center in Bengaluru or being longlisted for The Merit List, these accolades reflect the intense, iterative conversations our team conducts with clients, site history, and the local environment.

Our work on the Solina Silk Factory in Srinagar, highlighted in the LA Journal and ArchDaily, is a prime example of this philosophy. We do not look at heritage sites as static monuments to be preserved in amber. Instead, we view them as opportunities for regeneration. By transforming abandoned industrial shells into functional, vibrant spaces for artisans and the community, we demonstrate that modern architectural interventions can thrive within historic frameworks.

These features and awards serve as a checkpoint for our studio. They encourage us to continue pushing boundaries in urban design and master planning, ensuring our projects remain socially relevant and ecologically responsible. For us, every trophy and publication is a shared win for the entire team, from the architects at our studios in HRBR Layout and Gachibowli to the craftspeople on site who help us execute these challenging designs.
