Our Design Process & Philosophy
We do not just build structures. We create living canvases that connect people to their environment through deep research, slow architecture, and honest materials.
We were honored to have our work included in a multi year research project and book by Harvard GSD and the Mittal Institute, featuring influential young design studios across South Asia. This image shows our principal architect at the exhibition, standing beside a display of our key projects.
About Our Studio & Process
Before we draw a single line, we spend weeks researching site history, local craft traditions, and movement patterns. This is not just theory, it is how we ensure every project feels like it truly belongs to its surroundings rather than being imposed upon them.
Our studio approach is defined by what we call slow architecture. Instead of racing to finish, we take time to understand the story of the land and the people it will serve. This method recently gained recognition from the Harvard GSD and the Mittal Institute, where our practice was highlighted in a multi-year research project on South Asian design.
We believe that a building should not shout. Whether we are working with traditional materials like lime plaster and Kota stone or modern elements like industrial steel, our goal is to let nature and time dictate the finish. Our process involves:
- Contextual Mapping: We study the history, light conditions, and community habits of a location before we define a single wall or path.
- Material Honesty: We prefer raw materials that age well. We avoid artificial finishes, opting for textures that hold memory and warmth.
- Iterative Prototyping: Every idea goes through digital and physical testing to ensure it functions as well as it looks.
Ultimately, we want to create spaces where kids can run, adults can pause, and community can form in the spaces between. We do not aim to create something that looks finished on day one. We design for the future, where the architecture softens, the materials weather, and the space becomes a part of the landscape.
