I am deeply inspired by vernacular architecture, which combines tradition, cultural heritage, and refined aesthetics. This video is a mood board of the intricate details and timeless forms that influence my work, as I strive to create spaces that are both innovative and rooted in a sense of place.
Color is fundamental to setting the mood of a space. I love working with harmonious color palettes, from soothing blues to earthy neutrals, to create a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. This video explores some of the color stories that inspire my designs.
The enchanting play of light and shadows is one of my favorite design tools. I believe that how light interacts with a space can completely transform its feel, creating depth, drama, and a sense of wonder. This is a key element I consider in every project.

At AKAR Design Studio, our work revolves around balancing the old with the new. We draw from the warmth of vernacular architecture, such as terracotta and jaali brickwork, and pair it with the clean, serene lines of Japandi style interiors. We know that choosing materials can feel like navigating a maze. Our job is to simplify those decisions, whether it is picking the right laminate or deciding on the layout for a custom Pooja unit. We are honest about the process. We discuss budgets right at the start because we want to create a space that fits your life without hidden costs.
