About this collection
I use props like yoga blocks and chairs to make strength training accessible and safe for everyone, regardless of their current fitness level. When we train together, the goal is not just a workout session but building the actual strength needed to climb stairs, lift groceries, or play with grandkids without pain.
My senior fitness program is designed around the reality of aging. We are not training for bodybuilding or heavy weightlifting, but for functional longevity. The primary focus is on maintaining bone density, improving posture, and ensuring you have the balance and core strength to navigate daily life independently.
How We Work Together
Whether we meet in person or via video call, the approach remains the same. We start by assessing your movement patterns to identify where you need support. For some, this involves Iyengar-style therapeutic yoga to manage stiffness and pain, as seen in clients recovering from severe back issues who eventually regain their range of motion. For others, it involves low-impact strength training using resistance bands or light weights.
Why Props Matter
If you have never trained before, the idea of exercise can be intimidating. That is why I rely heavily on household items and specific props like chairs and yoga blocks. These allow us to perform exercises like squats or stretches with proper support, ensuring your joints are protected while your muscles get the necessary load to stay strong.
