Science and Cultural Exploration for Young Minds
We transform curiosity into understanding. At Kriya, science and culture aren't just subjects on a timetable—they are hands-on experiences that allow children to explore the world around them, from the biology of a plant to the physics of water.
From seed to harvest. This video shows the entire process of our children planting seeds, caring for them, and eventually harvesting their own vegetables. This is a powerful, hands-on lesson in botany and patience.
Our little scientists explore the properties of slime. This hands-on activity lets them discover the unique texture of a non-Newtonian fluid, enhancing their sense of touch and fine motor skills.
Can you poke a pencil through a bag of water without it leaking? Our children discovered the magic of polymer chains in this amazing science experiment, watching with wonder as the bag sealed itself around the pencils.
A throwback to our group lessons on germination. Working together, children planted their own seeds, labeled them, and learned about the conditions needed for a plant to grow.

This graphic explains how making and flying ribbon kites helps children learn about the concept of wind, using their senses to observe its presence and effects.
Our word of the month is "Wonder." This concept is the spark that drives our young minds to explore, question, and discover everything about the world around them.
About Sparking Curiosity: Science & Culture
When you walk into our science corner, you will not find textbooks or flashcards. Instead, you will see real soil, magnifying glasses, and children carefully tending to the saplings they planted themselves. We prioritize this tactile approach because we have seen that when a child understands the life cycle of a plant through their own labor, the lesson stays with them longer than any classroom lecture could.
The Science of Wonder
In our classrooms, we treat every question as a hypothesis. Montessori education is not about memorizing facts, but about building the cognitive tools to investigate the world. We follow the child's natural drive to understand how things work, providing the environment and materials for them to experiment, fail, and succeed independently.
Hands-On Exploration
Our culture and science curriculum spans several disciplines, each designed to make abstract concepts concrete:
- Botany and Gardening: From seed germination to harvest, children take responsibility for living things. They learn the conditions required for life, cultivating patience and empathy along the way.
- Physical Science: We use simple experiments—like creating slime to study non-Newtonian fluids or observing the effects of water tension—to introduce physics and chemistry concepts in an accessible way.
- Cultural Studies: We introduce geography and diverse traditions through tangible experiences, from mapping puzzles to hands-on festival celebrations. This helps children understand their place in the broader community.
Why This Matters
This method builds more than just scientific literacy. By engaging in these activities, children develop 'Cosmic Education'—a deep awareness of how all parts of the world are interconnected. Whether they are balancing a ribbon kite to learn about wind or observing the capillary action in a simple experiment, they are strengthening their powers of observation, concentration, and fine motor skills. We believe that by fostering this initial spark of wonder, we are helping to raise individuals who will remain curious, critical thinkers throughout their lives.
Kriya Global Montessori
We are a team of educators who see the classroom as a living, breathing laboratory. We do not just teach science; we curate an environment where curiosity is the main lesson, guiding children to ask their own questions and find their own answers.
