Science and Geography Explorations
We believe children learn best when they can touch, see, and build their understanding. Our science and geography curriculum turns abstract concepts into real, hands-on discoveries that stay with them long after they leave the classroom.
A teacher explains the phases of the moon to a group of curious students using a handmade model. We make astronomy accessible and fascinating, encouraging children to look up and wonder about the universe.
Students learn about the human skeletal system with a large, interactive model. Our hands-on approach to biology demystifies the human body and fosters a love for science.
A detailed diorama of a forest ecosystem, created by the children. This project-based learning helps them understand different habitats, the animals that live there, and the importance of biodiversity.
Celebrating Environment Day by getting our hands dirty. Children learn about the life cycle of plants by sowing seeds and watering them, fostering a sense of responsibility for our planet.
On a botany walk, our little explorers gather leaves and learn to identify different plants. We believe in taking learning outdoors to connect children directly with the natural world.
A child works with a puzzle map of a continent, learning the names and shapes of different countries. Our geography curriculum builds a global perspective and an appreciation for different cultures.
This detailed model, built by our students, illustrates the different types of pollution. We teach children about important environmental issues in an age-appropriate way, empowering them to be conscious global citizens.
A model showing the layers of the Earth, from the crust to the core. Our geography lessons use tangible models to make complex concepts like geology easy for young minds to grasp.
A diorama depicting the journey of a river, from its source to the delta. This hands-on project helps children visualize and understand key geographical features and landforms.
Students sit proudly with their handmade models depicting the evolution of man. We introduce history and anthropology in a simple, visual way that sparks curiosity about our shared past.
About Exploring Our World: Science & Geography
You won't find rote workbooks here. Instead, you'll see children working with physical models—like life-sized dioramas or bead chains—to understand how a river flows or how the solar system works. By building these projects themselves, they grasp complex ideas naturally, often surprised by what they can create when given the right tools.
Learning Through Touch
In our Montessori classrooms in Jayanagar and Padmanabhanagar, we believe that 'doing' is the highest form of learning. When a child learns about the human skeletal system or the phases of the moon, they aren't just memorizing definitions. They are interacting with 3D models, painting, or assembling parts. This sensory engagement helps them internalize concepts like biology and geology before they ever pick up a textbook.
Why Project-Based Science Matters
Our science curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, not just provide answers.
- Real-world connection: By creating dioramas of forest ecosystems or models of the water cycle, children understand the interconnectedness of their environment.
- Sustainability focus: Many of our projects incorporate recycling, teaching children to value materials and understand their responsibility toward the planet.
- Peer learning: Because we use mixed-age groups, younger children observe and learn from older ones, creating a natural flow of knowledge sharing that builds confidence for everyone involved.
Geography as a Global Perspective
Geography here goes beyond memorizing names on a map. We use puzzle maps to help children physically place countries and continents, making global awareness a tactile experience. Whether they are exploring the life cycle of a frog or the layers of the Earth, we aim to transform the 'classroom' into a laboratory for little explorers.
