About this collection

You do not need to be fit to join us—you just need to show up. Our beginner classes focus on proper mechanics, like stance and footwork, before we ever ask you to put power behind a punch. We prioritize safety and technique over raw strength because building a solid base is the only way to avoid injury and actually progress in your training.

At Kia Kaha, we have stripped away the 'tough guy' culture often associated with fight gyms. Whether you are training at our Indiranagar studio, or dropping in at Koramangala or JP Nagar, the focus remains the same: movement, awareness, and discipline.

We start with the fundamentals because bad habits are hard to break later.

  • Stance and Balance: We teach you to keep your feet shoulder-width apart with knees soft, so you have a solid base for power and defense.
  • Body Mechanics: Many beginners think punching is just about arm strength. We drill how to engage your core and hips to generate force, which saves your shoulders and increases your power output significantly.
  • Defense is Priority: We show you how to slip, roll, and keep your hands up. Keeping your head off the centerline is the first lesson in staying safe.

Consistency is the only secret. If you are struggling with your roundhouse kicks or footwork, do not sweat it. We see the same mistakes every day, and our coaches are there to correct your form in real-time. By the time you move into sparring, these movements will be second nature, allowing you to focus on strategy rather than thinking about where your feet go.
