Discover the joy of pen illustration and meditative Zentangle. Whether you want to master intricate details or just unwind with simple, rhythmic strokes, we have a spot for you.

A beautiful collection of Zentangle patterns, doodles, and illustrations from our adult batch. It’s a very relaxing and meditative art form that anyone can learn and enjoy.

Look at these awesome character sketches done with pen by two of my talented young artists. We learn how to use lines to show form, movement, and personality in our drawings.

Quick figure sketching with pen and watercolor is a great way to capture life and movement. These are from my sketchbook, and we practice this style in class to loosen up our drawing skills.

A portrait sketch using a combination of ink pen for the lines and watercolor for a splash of color. This pen and wash technique is a fun and expressive way to draw people.

A finished character illustration of a cheerful mouse, created using pen and watercolor. This is a great example of the storytelling and illustration techniques we explore.

A proud student showing his graphic-style pen drawing of a bridge. This piece uses bold lines and patterns to create a striking architectural illustration.

Another one of our mouse character studies. This one focuses on posture and expression, using simple ink lines and a light watercolor wash to bring the character to life.

This is a duplicate image of the mouse character study. We often create multiple versions of a character to explore different poses and expressions in our illustration sessions.

About Pen Art & Creative Doodling

Most adults joining my class start by telling me they can’t draw a straight line. By the second session, they are usually lost in the flow of Zentangle patterns or pen-and-wash portraits. We keep the environment strictly non-judgmental—just you, a fine-liner pen, and some relaxing music.

Finding Your Flow

Pen art is not about being perfect. In our BTM Layout studio, we treat pen illustration and doodling as a way to de-stress. Whether you are interested in the meditative, repetitive nature of Zentangle patterns or the technical precision of architectural ink sketches, the focus is always on the process, not just the final result.

What We Cover

  • Zentangle & Doodling: We start with simple, repetitive strokes that form complex patterns. It’s perfect for clearing your mind after a long work week.
  • Pen & Wash Techniques: We combine permanent ink lines with soft watercolor washes to create expressive character studies and urban sketches.
  • Architectural Illustration: For those who want to tackle more complex projects, we cover perspective, vanishing points, and fine-line detailing.

The 'Master Stroke' Vibe

I call our adult groups the 'Master Stroke' batch because, honestly, everyone discovers a unique style they didn't know they had. We work in small groups—never more than 8 students—so I can sit with you, guide your hand, and help you fix those little mistakes. We often sit on the floor, keep the music low, and treat the session like an adda (casual hangout) rather than a rigid art school.

No experience is required. You bring your own materials based on my recommendation list, and I provide the guidance and the creative space to let you experiment.
