Authentic Malaysian Flavors in Bengaluru
Welcome to my little slice of Malaysia in Indiranagar. I have put together these highlights to show you the flavors, the vibe, and the heart behind everything we serve at Kopitiam Lah.
This is what comfort looks like for me. A rich, spicy bowl of Curry Laksa, full of noodles, tofu puffs, and flavour, paired with a strong iced Kopi. It’s a classic Malaysian meal that I am so happy to share with you here in Bengaluru.
My Kopi Breakfast Set is pure nostalgia. It comes with our famous Kaya Toast, silky Malaysian half boiled eggs, and a strong Kopi C, just like my mum used to make for me before school. It’s the perfect way to start your day.
I always wanted Kopitiam Lah to have the lively, bustling energy of a real Malaysian coffee shop. Here you can see my amazing team at work in our open kitchen, preparing authentic dishes for our guests. The sounds and smells are all part of the experience.
This is Nasi Lemak, what many call the national dish of Malaysia. It’s fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk, served with a spicy sambal, crispy anchovies, peanuts, cucumber, a hard boiled egg, and a delicious chicken curry. It’s a complete meal and a true taste of home.
Every antique and old item in my restaurant has a story that connects me to my childhood in Malaysia. From the old tiffin boxes my aunt used for sending kueh, to the kerosene stove my mum remembers from when she was little, these items hold so many precious memories.
This is not your regular chai, it’s Teh Tarik, or 'pulled tea'. We make it with black tea, condensed milk, and evaporated milk, and the pulling technique gives it a special frothy, creamy texture. It’s a staple drink you can enjoy any time of the day.
I am so grateful and humbled that Kopitiam Lah was awarded 3 Ultimate Stars by Culinary Culture. This honour is a testament to the hard work and passion my entire team pours into bringing authentic Malaysian flavours to you every single day.
This is me and my husband, Vinesh. Kopitiam Lah is our shared dream, born from my Malaysian Chinese heritage and his passion for building something special here in Bengaluru. We are so happy to welcome you into our space.
About Featured
When you visit, you will notice the difference from your first sip of Kopi C. We use imported ingredients like authentic Belacan shrimp paste and Lap Cheong sausage to ensure every bowl of Curry Laksa or plate of Nasi Lemak tastes exactly like it does back in Malaysia.
Kopitiam Lah is not just about the food, it is about the feeling. A 'kopitiam' is our Malaysian neighborhood coffee shop, and I wanted to bring that exact bustling, comforting energy to Bengaluru. We do not do fancy, we do real. You will find that same 'Wok Hei'—the smoky breath of the wok—in our Char Kway Teow, and the perfect silky, soft-boiled eggs served with premium soy sauce just like my mum made for me before school.
Everything here is deliberate. The antiques and old tins scattered around the space are not just decor, they are pieces of my childhood I brought with me. When you order a Teh Tarik, you are not just getting tea, you are watching the art of the 'pull' that creates that signature frothy, creamy texture. We are truly honored that our efforts to bring these authentic Malaysian flavors to India were recognized with 3 Ultimate Stars by Culinary Culture, but the best award is seeing our guests enjoy a quiet breakfast or a hearty lunch with us.
Whether you are here for the Nasi Lemak, the comforting Curry Laksa, or just to chat over a strong cup of coffee, we are happy to share these memories with you.

I am Joonie, and Kopitiam Lah is my way of sharing the breakfast sets and comfort meals I grew up with. Along with my husband Vinesh, I have tried to build a space in Bengaluru that feels less like a restaurant and more like a home away from home.
