About Baking & Pastry Education
Why I Teach Baking
Baking brings back so many memories for me - the taste of kaya toast, a hot Kopi C in the morning, the smell of something sweet in the oven. I’ve spent years making cakes, but teaching others is what really lights me up. I love seeing someone, whether kid or adult, leave class with something they made and a big smile on their face.
For Kids: Baking Camps
I’m excited to run my kids baking workshops again. My motto is “train them young” - so we dive right in, mixing and decorating cupcakes, rolling out fondant, and making little kueh and cakesicles. Kids get messy (confirm got flour everywhere!) but they also get real hands-on fun and a recipe booklet to use at home.
Cake Decoration Workshops
If you’re new or want to level up, my fondant cake decorating classes are all about building solid basics. We cover:
- How to get fondant smooth and edges sharp
- Making cute fondant toppers (think unicorns, cartoon stuff)
- Using pro tools for that atas (fancy) finish
Going Pro? Certificate Courses
For those serious about pastry, I teach cake modules in Lavonne Academy’s professional pastry certificate. These are deep dives into multi-tier cakes, ruffling, and more. Not easy, but super shiok (satisfying) if you love a challenge.
What You’ll Get
Judgment-free, fun space to ask, try, fail, and succeed. Whether you want to bake with your kid or dream of going pro, I’m here to help you enjoy the art and science of baking.

My Story
People call us pastry artists now, but really, it all started with a leap from real estate back to my childhood love for cakes. Malaysia roots, Indian home - lots of chaos, food, and family. My husband’s wild ideas, my obsession with getting things done, and our kid Zev zipping around. We celebrate with pizza and kombucha, not fancy stuff. My Malaysian Chinese culture is everywhere here. It’s not always easy, but every messy moment is worth it. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
My Work
Pastry Art, Baking Classes & Malaysian Cafe - We make custom cakes for all occasions, teach baking, and serve Malaysian coffee house classics.
Lavonne Cake Studio - From Lambeth piping wedding cakes to quirky birthday cakes, we bring cake dreams to life. Kids cake decorating camp is back too!
Kopitiam Lah Cafe - Our Malaysian kopi breakfast set and kaya toast bring a taste of home to Bangalore. It’s a vibe, not just food.
Teaching & Pastry Demos - I teach at Lavonne Academy and run pastry demo workshops for bakers and cake artists.
