Strength, Stamina & Agility Drills for Kabaddi
A complete athlete is the only kind that makes it to the mat. My conditioning program builds the raw power, endurance, and explosive agility you need to dominate in the game.
We use a variety of equipment to build explosive power. Here, my players are doing hurdle jumps for agility and box jumps on stacked mats to develop powerful legs.
Warming up is crucial. The entire team runs in formation on the mat, building stamina and team synchronicity before the main practice begins.
Bear crawls are an excellent full-body workout. We incorporate these drills on the mat to build core strength, shoulder stability, and endurance.
More bear crawl drills, this time with the full squad. This exercise builds the raw strength needed for both powerful raids and unshakeable defense.
Frog jumps and other bodyweight exercises on the grass. We use the natural environment to build functional strength and endurance.
Players practicing their defensive stance and footwork in a group drill. Repetition is the key to making these movements second nature.
Group conditioning drills on the grass, including sprints and core exercises. A strong body is the foundation of a strong player.
Dynamic stretching and high-kick drills in the open field to improve flexibility and kicking ability for raiders.
Outdoor warm-up exercises to prepare the body for an intense training session.
Synchronized conditioning drills on the grass. Discipline and teamwork are visible in everything we do.
About Strength, Stamina & Agility Drills
My conditioning sessions are not just about gym work, they are about functional power. We use mitti sprints to develop the explosive leg strength needed for high-pressure raids and mat-based drills to ensure your agility stays sharp for those split-second defensive reactions.
In Kabaddi, speed without stability is useless. My training focuses on building an athlete who can maintain their posture whether they are on a traditional mud court or a professional mat. We focus on three pillars of conditioning.
The Power of Mitti
Practicing on the mitti is non-negotiable here. It provides the resistance you need to strengthen your ankles and knees. When you sprint on mud, your legs engage muscles that a treadmill simply cannot activate. This builds the raw, ground-up power required for powerful lunges and unshakeable defensive holds.
Agility and Mat Drills
Once we have the power, we move to the mat to develop speed. Our drill routine includes agility ladders, hurdle jumps, and reaction-based sprints. These are designed to make your footwork lightning-fast. A raider needs to be unpredictable, and a defender needs to be explosive. We train you to pivot, turn, and react in milliseconds.
Stamina and Mental Toughness
Kabaddi is a game of endurance. My conditioning includes hill sprints, partner carries, and circuit training to push your cardiovascular capacity. You will get tired, but that is the point. We train through the fatigue because that is where the real game is won. If your lungs are burning, your brain must stay calm. We practice with full focus, avoiding distractions, because a player who is fit is a player who is confident. You bring the discipline to show up every morning, and I will build the machine.
