Professional Kabaddi Coaching: Technique and Mitti Practice
Focus on raw technique, mud-ground power, and the discipline needed to reach the Pro Kabaddi League. We build players from the ground up.
This is where it all begins, on the mitti (mud). I first teach the fundamentals and correct the mistakes, then we put it all into practice with full-contact training to build raw power and resilience.
From the mud, we move to the mat to build speed and prepare for professional competitions. Here you can see my players executing fast-paced raids and powerful defensive tackles during an intense practice match.
A raider's biggest mistake is getting too close to the defender without a plan. I teach my players how to use their speed and reach effectively, explaining the technique just like learning to drive a car: master the basics first, then build speed.
Defense is about balance, posture, and mental pressure. I train my defenders to maintain a strong stance, use their whole body to make a tackle, and use their voice to dominate the raider.
Kabaddi requires immense stamina. We build it through rigorous conditioning, including road running and outdoor agility drills, ensuring my players can outlast any opponent on the court.
I am incredibly proud to see my student, Manjeet Kumar, retained as a New Young Player by the Bengaluru Bulls for the Pro Kabaddi League. This is the result of his dedication and the tough, foundational training we provide.
Discipline is the foundation of my academy. Here, my players work together in a synchronized push-up drill, building not just individual strength but also the unity and spirit of a team.
About Featured
Most students arrive thinking speed is the answer, but the first thing we fix is your basic stance and posture. If your foundation on the mitti (mud) is shaky, no amount of speed will help you in a raid or a tackle. We correct your technique during our daily sessions, focusing on how you use your body weight and voice to mentally disturb the opponent before you even move.
At JD Kabaddi Academy, we train for results, not just participation. My coaching philosophy relies on a dual-surface approach because a complete player needs to handle both traditional mud and modern mats.
The Training Method
- Mitti (Mud) Ground: This is where we build raw power. Training on earth pits strengthens your joints and lower body torque. It is unforgiving, which is exactly why it is the best place to learn balance.
- Professional Mat Hall: Once the basics are solid, we move to the mat to develop speed, sliding techniques, and the quick reflexes required for modern competitive kabaddi.
Why Discipline Comes First
Whether you are a day scholar or a residential athlete, the routine is the same. We follow a strict double-shift schedule: morning sessions for conditioning and evening sessions for match practice. I teach raiding skills like the dubki and toe touch, alongside defensive formations like ankle holds and chain blocking. But these are useless if your mental game is weak. I train my players to use their voice to dominate the court. If you are serious about playing at the National or Pro Kabaddi level, you need more than just effort. You need to master your posture, control your distance, and respect the process. My students represent states and professional teams because they learned to fix their mistakes here, not hide them.
JD Kabaddi Academy
I am Jitender Nagar, known as Guruji at JD Kabaddi Academy. My work is simple: I prepare players for the real game. We don't just run drills; we build your body balance, teach you how to dominate with your voice, and ensure you understand the technique before you try for speed.
