In the game of Kabaddi, the mud court is where you truly test your mettle. At JD Kabaddi Academy, we use traditional mitti training to build the leg strength, balance, and grit that professional leagues demand.

An intense raiding drill on the mitti. The uneven surface forces players to develop superior body balance and explosive power to evade defenders.

A powerful chain tackle during a practice match on the mud court. This kind of defense requires perfect timing and teamwork, skills we hone daily.

A classic pile-on tackle in the mud. Mitti training is tough and builds the mental and physical grit needed to dominate in a real match.

Defenders on the mitti practicing their stances and coordination. The grip on the mud is different, and we train our players to use it to their advantage for solid ankle holds.

A player attempts a 'dubki' (dive) under the defenders' chain. This advanced raiding skill requires immense core strength and agility, which is developed through our mitti training.

A raider is caught in a powerful block by the defense. On the mitti, defenders learn to use their full body weight to stop the opponent in their tracks.

Footwork and agility drills on the mitti using markers. These exercises improve a player's reaction time and ability to change direction quickly.

A combination of agility drills and strength exercises like push-ups on the mud court. This is part of our comprehensive conditioning program.

About Mitti Practice: Building Raw Power

When we practice on the mitti, we don't just focus on the tackle—we focus on the grip. Unlike the mat where you slide, the mud forces you to dig in your heels to maintain your stance. It is not just about raw strength; it is about learning how to use the ground’s resistance to generate the explosive power needed for a successful dash or block. You cannot fake technique on this surface; you either have the balance or you go down.

Why We Still Train on the Mitti

Modern kabaddi is fast, but the foundation is built on the earth. Training on a mud court creates resistance you simply cannot get on a synthetic mat. Every sprint, every pivot, and every tackle on the mitti demands more from your muscles. It develops superior lower-body torque, ankle strength, and a level of grit that defines a true athlete. When a player who has trained on mitti steps onto a professional mat, they find their reaction time is faster because their legs are stronger.

Our Training Methodology

At JD Kabaddi Academy, we don't just 'play' kabaddi. We drill.

  • Stance and Balance: We spend hours on footwork drills. If your posture is wrong, the best speed in the world won't save you.
  • Defensive Technique: We practice chain formations and ankle holds repeatedly until they are instinctual. Our goal is to make your defense impenetrable.
  • Conditioning: Kabaddi is a contact sport that requires high endurance. Our mitti sessions include bear crawls, high-resistance sprinting, and partner carries.

Focus and Discipline

We start every session with ground pooja. It isn't just a ritual; it is a mindset. It reminds every player that the ground is our teacher. We keep our group sizes managed so I can personally correct your technique. If you are here for 'timepass', you are in the wrong place. If you are here to work hard and potentially make it to the Senior Nationals or Pro Kabaddi, you are at the right academy.

We train six days a week, with double shifts to ensure your body is conditioned for tournament pressure. Whether you are a raider looking to master the dubki or a defender perfecting your block, the mitti teaches you the hard truth about your physical limitations—and how to overcome them.
