Bharatanatyam and Multimedia Dance Productions
Blending the rigorous discipline of Kalakshetra-style Bharatanatyam with modern technology, VFX, and large-scale ensemble choreography.
A moment from 'Fusion of Epochs' at the AWS AI Conclave. This performance was a symphony of Bharatanatyam and Generative AI, where my dancer's avatar was created live on stage, exploring the harmony between human artistry and technological innovation.
From my production 'Antariksha Sanchar', this scene uses digital art to create a celestial tree of life. My choreography often integrates such visual elements to build immersive worlds on stage, blending ancient stories with futuristic aesthetics.
Dancers perform with vibrant textiles in my production 'Mix & Match'. This piece is a tribute to the weavers of India, using the grace of Bharatanatyam and Chhau to narrate the stories woven into our regional sarees.
A large ensemble performance at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore. I specialize in choreographing for grand stages, uniting over 50 dancers from different classical and folk forms under a single, powerful theme.
A dramatic moment from 'Akhandalaya: The Unvanquished Rhythm'. Through powerful lighting and classical form, this production explores timeless spiritual themes, showcasing the pure, unadulterated energy of Bharatanatyam.
Performing with my disciples for the National Day ceremony of the Embassy of Chile. My work often involves cultural diplomacy, creating unique choreographies that build bridges between India and the world.
The language of 'Abhinaya' or expression is central to my storytelling. Every glance and gesture is crafted to convey deep emotion and narrative, connecting the audience to the heart of the performance.
As an Acharya, I often perform the 'Nattuvangam', conducting the rhythm of the performance with cymbals. Even when not physically dancing, my entire being is immersed in the music and movement of my disciples.
About Featured
My creative process relies on building a complete visual and auditory world, not just teaching steps. When I work on a production, I consider everything from the narrative flow to how live Generative AI or projection mapping can interact with the dancers on stage. My goal is to ensure that the technical spectacle never overshadows the classical form, but rather amplifies the storytelling, whether for an embassy function or a corporate event.
My work is defined by a deep respect for the classical Bharatanatyam idiom, learned at Kalakshetra, while embracing the possibilities of the modern stage. This featured collection showcases the spectrum of my choreography, from intimate classical ensemble performances in Delhi NCR to large-scale multimedia productions that have reached audiences nationwide.
Integrating Tradition with Technology
Innovation in dance does not mean abandoning the roots. In productions like 'Fusion of Epochs' presented at the AWS AI Conclave, I demonstrated how digital avatars and live projection mapping can coexist with traditional movement. This approach allows for a deeper connection with contemporary audiences without diluting the authenticity of the performance.
Large-Scale Thematic Choreography
I specialize in conceptualizing and executing grand productions. Whether it involves 50+ dancers for events like the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas or specialized cultural diplomacy performances for embassies, I manage the technical rider, lighting design, and narrative flow to ensure a seamless experience. Every production is crafted to be a visual and rhythmic journey, supported by my team at Triveni Kala Sangam.
Educational & Commissioned Work
Beyond performances, I am dedicated to preserving the Guru-Shishya Parampara. I commission original choreography tailored to specific themes, providing clients with full support including music scores, nattuvangam scripts, and intensive training sessions. If you are looking for a performance that marries technical precision with artistic soul, I am happy to discuss your specific requirements.
