A glimpse into my world of dance, where traditional Thanjavur compositions meet modern storytelling through intimate solo recitals and grand ensemble productions.

This is the essence of Bharatanatyam for me, a moment of complete surrender to the rhythm and story. This dynamic leap captures the energy I strive to bring to every solo performance, embodying the spirit of the character.

My Chithkala Ensemble and I, ready to present "Tyāgarāja Hṛt Sādana." This image captures the scale and vibrant energy of our group productions, where we come together to create a grand theatrical experience.

A moment of intense collaboration from "Tatsama Tadbhava," a production where I explored the fusion of Bharatanatyam with contemporary dance. This piece delves into the hidden layers of human truth, blending two distinct movement vocabularies.

Abhinaya, or expression, is the soul of my dance. Here, in a moment from my solo work "Sharanagathi," I delve into the deep emotions of the narrative, aiming to connect with the audience on a personal level.

The magic of a live orchestra is irreplaceable. Here are the talented musicians who breathe life into my performances, their melodies and rhythms forming the very foundation upon which the dance is built.

A poignant moment from "Ṛtu Vismruthi," a Chithkala Ensemble production. This scene showcases the storytelling power of group choreography, where multiple dancers create a single, powerful emotional landscape.

A glimpse of the pure Nritta, or abstract dance, from my solo repertoire. This clip showcases the intricate footwork and dynamic postures that are fundamental to the Thanjavur style of Bharatanatyam.

About this collection

Whether you are planning a solo recital or a large-scale ensemble production, the live musical ensemble is the heartbeat of the show. I bring a complete four-to-five piece Carnatic orchestra, including a vocalist, nattuvangam, mridangam, and melodic support, to ensure the spontaneous dialogue between dancer and musician remains authentic.

My approach to Bharatanatyam is what I call a family pack, where performance, choreography, and teaching are all deeply interconnected. In this gallery, you see the full spectrum of that work. My solo performances are intimate explorations of the Nayaka, moving away from conventional heroine-centric compositions to delve into the specific emotions of a male protagonist. These are suited for smaller gatherings and formal festival settings, requiring careful sound monitoring to capture the subtle footwork and abhinaya.

On the other hand, my Chithkala Ensemble productions bring a theatrical scale to the stage. These are visual, rhythmic, and vibrant, designed for larger auditorium events. When booking these, consider the space, as we require a minimum stage dimension of 20ft by 15ft to execute our synchronized group formations effectively. Regardless of the scale, we prioritize professional lighting and high-definition sound, as our performances rely entirely on the live connection between the stage and the orchestra. If you are a rasika looking to host a performance, we can discuss which format aligns best with your venue and vision.
