About In-Person Workshops & Events
In these workshops, we move beyond the repetition of postures. You will get direct, hands-on adjustments that you cannot replicate on a screen. Whether we are exploring the architecture of the spine using wall ropes or dissecting the Yoga Sutras, the goal is to bridge the gap between your physical movement and the intelligence behind it.
A screen can show you the shape of a posture, but it cannot see you. These in-person intensives are grounded in the Gurukul tradition, where the learning extends beyond the sequence. When we gather in a studio—whether in Cooke Town, Bangalore, or internationally—we do so to observe the mechanics of the body in real-time.
My workshops function as a laboratory. We take the Iyengar methodology and apply it to specific inquiries: the geometry of a backbend, the physiological impact of inverted poses, or the precise use of props like metal chairs and wall ropes to release muscular tension. We do not practice to get better at stretching. We practice to refine the nervous system and build a sustainable, intelligent relationship with our anatomy.
We also dedicate time to the intellectual study of yoga. If we are exploring the Yoga Sutras, we do so by chanting and analyzing the Sanskrit verses to understand their modern relevance. I challenge students to bring their skepticism and their curiosity. We dissect alignment errors not to judge them, but to understand why the body is resisting. This is for the serious practitioner and the teacher seeking to deepen their pedagogical vocabulary. You will leave with a map of your own limitations and the tools to dismantle them, one session at a time.
The Practice Room
I'm the founder of The Practice Room, and I don't believe in teaching yoga like a fitness drill. I want you to question why you move, how you breathe, and whether your practice is actually setting you free.
