About Iyengar Yoga Classes and Workshops
Why I Teach This Way
I see yoga as a way to keep both mind and body engaged, not just a checklist of poses. Iyengar Yoga asks us to explore each posture (asana) as a chance to connect with ourselves, not to make everything look perfect. I care about how you feel in class, not just how you look.
What Makes My Classes Different
Props are all over the studio. You’ll see ropes on the wall, chairs, blocks, bolsters, and belts. These aren’t shortcuts - they’re tools for learning. Props make complicated postures safer and help you go deeper, even if you’re new, dealing with an injury, or not super flexible. I’ll show you how to use them so you really understand alignment and can feel the difference.
What Happens in Class
- Group classes in Bangalore feel like a lab - we try dynamic sequences, partner work, and use wall ropes a lot. Hands-on adjustments are part of it.
- I run special Iyengar Yoga workshops for things like wrist pain, wall rope techniques, or for athletes who want to work on performance and recovery.
- We focus on practical stuff: learning safe headstands and shoulderstands, smart ways to backbend, and how to use yoga for pain management or hormonal health.
My Take on Progress
There’s no “wrong” way unless it’s really hurting you. I encourage honest effort and staying aware of habits, not chasing a perfect pose.

My Story
Hola! We’re The Practice Room. Started out teaching yoga in the chaos of NYC, moved to Bombay, now here. The Gurukul tradition—teacher actually cares, asks where you’ve been, no hiding! That stuck with us. We got featured in The New York Times for working with Rohan Bopanna, but honestly, what matters is sharing this wild, deep subject. My Spanish is basic, mi español es muy básico, Sanskrit not perfect, but yoga’s language… that’s universal.
My Work
