About Advanced Cadillac Training
Before we attempt these advanced inversions, we start with a clinical movement screen. I do not just teach you a pose; I look at your scapular stability, pelvic alignment, and current pain triggers to see if your body is actually ready for the load. You might see me doing these movements in the gallery, but we only progress to them once we have built a foundation that keeps your joints safe and your spine supported.
Why the Cadillac
Think of the Cadillac, or the Trapeze Table, as the ultimate tool for spinal decompression and deep core stabilization. Unlike mat Pilates, the Cadillac uses spring resistance and the trapeze bar to support your weight, which allows us to safely challenge your range of motion without the high impact of traditional gym training.
My Clinical Approach
I am a physiotherapist first. When you train with me, I am not looking for an aesthetic pose. I am monitoring your movement patterns to see if your core is engaging correctly or if you are compensating due to an old injury. If you have chronic back pain or shoulder issues, we use the Cadillac to create space in the joints and retrain your muscles to function without pain.
The Path to Advanced Movement
We follow a structured progression at my Benson Town studio:
- Mobility Check: We address tight lats, shoulders, and hips to ensure you have the raw materials to move safely.
- Foundational Control: We master the basics of breathing and bracing while under tension. This is where most people rush, but it is the most important step.
- Progressive Loading: We move from assisted stretches to the advanced inverted work you see here.
This process is not about chasing perfection. It is about understanding your body mechanics. Whether you are an athlete looking to improve your flexibility for sports or someone recovering from a nagging injury, we build strength from the ground up. Let's get you moving the right way.
