"The Guru and God are two forms of the same divinity." This moment from a Guru Purnima ceremony, receiving blessings from my guru Saswati didi in front of Maharaj ji's portrait, is a memory I will cherish forever.
I was moved to tears to receive the blessings of the legendary Padma Vibhushan Asha Bhosle Ji after a performance. She remarked on the reflection of my guru's style in my dance, which is the highest compliment I could ever receive.

About The Guru's Legacy
People often ask what separates my dance from others, and the answer is simple: it is the direct lineage of training from Kalashram. When I perform, I am not just executing choreography; I am practicing the specific nuances of the Lucknow Gharana passed down by Maharaj ji and Saswati Didi. This authenticity is what I bring to every stage, whether it is a solo recital or a group production.
Kathak is more than just rhythm and footwork. It is a language of the soul, and my vocabulary was built within the walls of Kalashram. Under the guidance of Pt. Birju Maharaj and Saswati Sen, I learned that 'Katha kahe so Kathak kahave'—a dancer must be a storyteller first.
My training covers the depth of Nritta (pure technical dance) and the subtlety of Abhinaya (expression). When you see me perform, you see the result of years of riyaaz focused on the delicate movements, the specific hand gestures, and the grace unique to the Lucknow Gharana.
I offer this same standard of traditional Kathak for events, festivals, and specialized workshops. Whether I am performing a devotional piece like Madhurashtakam or a complex Teentaal composition, my goal remains the same: to honour the art form and the gurus who made me who I am today.
