I was deeply humbled and grateful to receive the Rashtriya Achiever Award for my contributions to Kathak. This recognition, made possible by the blessings of my gurus, inspires me to continue sharing this divine art form.

This is one of my dedicated students, Kashvi, who secured a prize at a national level competition. I choreograph specialized solo pieces for competitions, focusing on highlighting the unique strengths and expressions of each dancer.

This poster is for 'Ramasmaran', a full-length dance production for which I developed the concept and choreography. The piece is a Kathak depiction of Hanuman's devotion to Ram, a theme that allows for deep exploration of bhakti through dance.

A moment captured during a chakkar, or spin, at a performance in Navi Mumbai. The flow of the anarkali and the energy of a live audience are two elements that make stage performances a truly surreal experience for me.

About Kathak Choreography

My Approach to Kathak Choreography

Choreography for me is more than just steps - it's a way to connect with something bigger. My training comes straight from the Lucknow Gharana, thanks to my gurus, Pandit Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Sen Didi. Every piece I make is soaked in that tradition and the guru-shishya parampara (teacher-student bond).

What I Offer

Kathak competition choreography - I love prepping dancers for competitions, making sure their strengths shine.

My Style

I mix abhinaya (expressive storytelling) and nritta (pure dance and rhythm). We dive into stories from mythology - Krishna ke leela (playful tales), Hanuman ki bhakti (devotion), Radha ka prem (divine love). Technical stuff like tukdas, parans, tihais, and different taals (rhythmic cycles) are always part of the process.

Mostly, I work in Delhi and Mumbai. But if you're somewhere else, online sessions are totally doable.

My Story

Kathak for me? It’s everything. I learnt under Maharaj ji and Saswati Didi at Kalashram - that place is like my second home. Sometimes I’m in Delhi, sometimes Mumbai, always dancing. Once dreamt of studying at SRCC, but life had other plans - ended up judging a dance show there years later! My Gurus’ blessings, lots of riyaaz (practice), and the stage - that’s my real story. Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah.

My Work

What I offer - Solo and group Kathak performances, choreography, regular and special Kathak classes, and I judge dance competitions.

My Kathak roots - I belong to the Lucknow Gharana - all my training is under Maharaj ji and Saswati Didi, and I teach the same way.

How I teach - All sincere learners welcome, from total newbies to advanced. I focus on both Nritta (technique) and Nritya (expression).

Performances & choreography - I’ve performed and choreographed productions like 'Ramasmaran' across India. Connecting with art lovers matters the most.
