Kathak Training and Student Performances
My students are the true reflection of the Kathak tradition I share. From mastering the nuances of the Lucknow Gharana to performing on national stages, witness their growth and dedication.

About My Students' Journey
I work with each student to refine their posture and expressions long before they reach the stage, ensuring they internalize the grace of the Lucknow Gharana. My classes focus on building the discipline and inner confidence required to perform with authenticity, whether it is for a practice session, an exam, or a national competition.
The journey of a Kathak student is a blend of rigorous technique and spiritual expression. Following the teachings of my gurus, Pandit Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Sen ji, I guide learners to understand that dance is not just about physical movement. It is a discipline that requires patience and a deep connection to the music.
My Approach to Teaching
In my sessions, I divide the focus between Nritta (technical footwork) and Nritya (expressive storytelling). For those preparing for performances at platforms like Bal Kala Utsav or local cultural events such as Samarpan, I provide personalized training. This involves meticulous corrections on hand gestures (mudras), rhythmic precision in Teentaal, and the ability to convey emotions through Abhinaya.
What Students Can Expect
My classes, whether in the Andheri West studio or online, prioritize the basics. New students often start by understanding their balance and the weight of their ghungroos. As they progress, we move into complex choreographies and stage presence. I encourage my students to view the stage not as a place to impress, but as a space to offer their art. Seeing them grow from hesitant beginners into confident performers who respect the tradition is my greatest reward. Whether you are aiming for a professional stage career or simply wish to learn the nuances of this classical art form, I am here to guide you with the same grace and structure I received from my teachers.
