These milestones are not just accolades to me. They are reflections of the grace shown by my gurus, Pandit Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Sen ji, and the discipline they instilled in my practice.

Performing at the Rashtriya Achiever Award 2025 ceremony. It was an honor to not only receive the award but also to share my art on such a prestigious platform.

Holding the Rashtriya Achiever Award. This award is a testament to the blessings of my gurus and the years of dedicated practice, and it motivates me to strive even harder.

I am blessed to be recognized as a Doordarshan Graded Artist. This is a significant milestone in my journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Kathak on a national platform.

A moment of gratitude after being graded as a Doordarshan artist. This recognition would not have been possible without the constant guidance and blessings of my gurus, Maharaj ji and Saswati didi.

About Awards & Recognition

Recognition like being a Doordarshan Graded Artist validates the rigorous Lucknow Gharana technique I strive to uphold. It is never about the trophy, but the responsibility to preserve the purity of our tradition, whether I am performing on stage or teaching a student in the studio.

My journey in Kathak is a continuous offering. When I received the Rashtriya Achiever Award, my first thought was of the years of riyaaz (practice) and the guidance of my gurus. These recognitions are, above all, a testament to the Guru-Shishya parampara that defines my existence.

Being a Doordarshan Graded Artist is a significant milestone for any Indian classical dancer. It is a validation of the technical precision, rhythmic complexity, and emotional depth required to represent our heritage on a national platform. This standard of excellence is what I bring to every interaction, whether I am judging a dance competition or choreographing a festival piece.

My students often ask what it takes to reach this level. It starts with the basics—Tatkar (footwork) and Hastaks (hand gestures)—rooted deeply in the Lucknow Gharana. My approach to training, whether for competition preparation or exam coaching, mirrors the same discipline that helped me achieve these honors. I do not just teach steps; I teach the philosophy of Nritta and Nritya so that you can understand the soul of the movement. If you are looking to deepen your connection with this art form, I am here to guide you with the same devotion that has shaped my own career.
