My background as a physiotherapist means I do not just teach moves. I analyze your body’s mechanics to help you recover, realign, and move without pain.

This is the 'Stomach Massage' series on the reformer, and my focus here is on correct spinal posture. I provide detailed, step-by-step cues to ensure the client engages their core correctly and moves with precision to get the full benefit of the exercise.

The 'Short Spine' massage is a complex reformer exercise that requires careful guidance. I'm instructing the client on proper foot positioning (plantar and dorsiflexion) and how to articulate the spine to safely decompress the vertebrae and stretch the hamstrings.

Quality instruction is about attention to detail. Here, I'm providing hands-on assistance to ensure proper alignment and muscle engagement during a challenging Cadillac exercise, which is key for both results and safety.

This is why I am so passionate about what I do. This wonderful client, at 70 years young, shares how our sessions have improved his general sense of well-being. It's proof that mindful, consistent movement is transformative at any age.

The quote from Joseph Pilates, "Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness," is a guiding principle in my studio. My physio-led approach ensures that your path to fitness is safe, effective, and sustainable.

We are focusing on improving lower back strength here. Low back pain is extremely common, and Pilates is an excellent way to relieve it by strengthening the deep core muscles that support the spine.

Did you know Pilates can increase longevity? By improving strength, balance, and flexibility, it helps maintain a healthy, functional body as we age. My physio background ensures we do this in the safest way possible.

About Physio-Led Guidance & Injury Recovery

Before you step onto a reformer, we start with a postural analysis. Whether you are dealing with a recurring slipped disc, knee stiffness, or just persistent lower back pain, I treat the root cause rather than the symptoms. This ensures that every session we do—from spinal articulation to deep core engagement—is safe, targeted, and specifically designed to get you back to moving pain-free.

A Clinical Approach to Movement

Many people hesitate to start a fitness routine because they fear aggravating an existing injury. My approach bridges the gap between clinical physiotherapy and active rehabilitation. When you join for injury recovery, we do not jump straight into intense routines. Instead, we assess your gait, spine curvature, and muscle imbalances.

Why Physio-Led Pilates Works

  • Precise Alignment: Using the STOTT PILATES method, we focus on small, controlled movements like pelvic tilting and vertebra-by-vertebra articulation. This helps deactivate overcompensating muscles and recruits the deep stabilizers that actually support your spine.
  • Equipment as a Tool: While mat work is great, I use the Cadillac and Reformer specifically for rehab. These allow us to control the load on your joints, providing support where you are weak and resistance where you are ready to grow.
  • Safe Progression: You are not just another client in a batch. Because I come from a physiotherapy background, I can modify any exercise on the fly. If a movement causes discomfort, we adjust the angle, the spring tension, or the range of motion immediately.

Who This Is For

This is for anyone who has been told to 'just rest' but still feels stiff, or those recovering from orthopedic issues who need a bridge back to normal activity. Whether you have had surgery, have chronic posture issues from desk work, or are managing recurring joint pain, the goal is the same: to rebuild your strength safely. We work on restoring your body's natural function so that you can walk out of the studio feeling lighter and more aligned than when you walked in.
