About Our Story: From Our Kitchen to Yours
Everything we make is on a pre-order basis because we believe in slow cooking, not fast trends. We start prepping at 3 AM to ensure that your meal—whether it is our signature Dal Baati or a comforting North Indian thali—is cooked fresh from scratch, exactly the way you would expect at home.
Desi Classics is not a brand, it is our home kitchen. Our journey started during a midnight conversation, when my mom and I decided we did not want our family’s secret recipes to get lost in time. We wanted to preserve the flavors of our Nani and Dadi, bridging the gap between traditional Rajasthani roots and delicate Sheherwali cuisine.
We do not use shortcuts. There is no freezing, no preservatives, and certainly no large-batch reheating. When you eat with us, you are eating what we eat. We focus on traditional techniques, like slow-simmering our Panchmel Dal for hours to get the right consistency or baking baatis until they are perfectly crusty.
Whether you are a Mumbaikar missing the taste of home, a corporate team looking for an authentic lunch, or a family wanting to try regional recipes without the restaurant grease, we are here to cook for you. Because we cook in small, fresh batches, we kindly ask for a 2-day pre-order. This ensures we can source the best ingredients and give your meal the time and love it deserves.
