Meet Dadisaa: The Heart Behind Our Marwadi Kitchen
Get to know the mother-daughter duo behind the flavours you love, and how Dadisaa’s passion for Marwadi cooking turned into a kitchen that feels just like home.
This video shares the story of how Happy Grandmaa Kitchen began. I wanted to turn my mother's passion into a reality, and she explains how making these snacks helped her during difficult times and grew into the kitchen we have today.
A warm "Khamma Ghani" from Dadisaa herself. Her smile is the secret ingredient in all our recipes, and she is always ready to answer the question, "What's for nashta?".
Happy Diwali from our entire family at Happy Grandmaa Kitchen. This is our dedicated team, the people who help Dadisaa and me pack love and ghee-goodness into every box we send out.
Dadisaa's welcoming namaste is a reminder of our motto, "Har Ghadi Nashto Ghadi". We believe every moment is the right moment for a wholesome, Grandmaa-approved snack.
A fun graphic that captures the spirit of our kitchen. Dadisaa is truly sweeter than the besan laddoos she makes and stronger than the masalas she uses, bringing traditional Marwadi snacks to every home.
About Our Story: Meet Dadisaa & The Team
When we say it is 'Dadisaa ke haath ka khana,' we mean it literally. Every batch of Mohanthaal or Besan Laddoo you see here is prepared under Mom’s watchful eye, using traditional slow-roasting techniques that simply cannot be rushed. We are not a factory, and we do not use assembly lines; we are a home kitchen here in Mumbai. Because we insist on using pure ghee and no preservatives, we make everything in small, manageable batches to ensure each order carries the specific, ghee-rich warmth you are looking for.
Our Story: From Covid Kitchen to Your Home
It all started with a simple thought during the lockdown. I am Meenakkshi, and I wanted to turn my mother Usha’s passion into something real. Everyone calls her Dadisaa, and her cooking has always been our family's comfort. What began as cooking for ourselves and our neighbours during uncertain times quickly turned into 'Happy Grandmaa Kitchen.'
Why We Do It This Way
We believe food should be honest. When you order from us, you aren't getting mass-produced packets. You are getting the same snacks we make for our own family. This means:
- No shortcuts: We never use palm oil or artificial preservatives.
- Slow-cooked traditions: We stick to the old-school Marwadi way of slow-roasting flour on a low flame (Mand-aach) to get that perfect, granular texture.
- Pure ingredients: If a recipe calls for pure ghee, that is exactly what we use. No compromises.
Meet the Team
Our kitchen is a tight-knit family. Dadisaa is the boss, and she makes sure every single box that leaves our kitchen is up to her standard. Behind the scenes, we have a small, dedicated team that helps us pack love and ghee-goodness into every order. Whether it is Diwali, Karwa Chauth, or just a Tuesday evening tea, we are here to make sure you have the taste of tradition on your table.
We keep experimenting with Dadisaa’s old recipe book, so there is always something new—or a forgotten classic—popping up. If you are ever wondering what to snack on, just ask, 'Dadisaa se pucho.' She always has the best answer.
