Our Story: The Curly Sue Journey
Born from our Kodava roots and a deep love for slow-cooking, Curly Sue Pork is our way of sharing the true, unhurried flavours of Coorg with you.
I was invited to give a talk at the Department of Hotel Management at Christ University. It was a wonderful opportunity to share my journey and passion for slow cooked food with the next generation of hoteliers.
This is a little glimpse into my journey with Curly Sue Pork. It's a story that started as a labour of love, inspired by my family, my Coorg roots, and our traditional slow cooking methods.

About Our Story & In the Press
When we started, it was not about building a massive food brand. It was about taking the slow-cooked recipes from Uttam's family and the hand-pounded spices from our own Coorg estate and figuring out how to bring those honest, unhurried flavours into kitchens across Bengaluru.
The name Curly Sue actually comes from our daughter, who has the ringlets to match. While I, Radhika, handle the flavour science and experimentation, Uttam brings the generations of hospitality experience that guide how we treat our guests.
Our food is not fast food. We believe in the patient process of slow cooking, often simmering our meats for eight hours to get that perfect tenderness. This is why our Pandi Curry or signature pulled pork has a depth you simply cannot rush.
Sharing this passion has taken us beyond just serving meals. We are proud to have been invited by institutions like Christ University to talk about the intersection of hospitality, entrepreneurship, and traditional Kodava cooking. We love the chance to educate the next generation of chefs about the importance of sourcing directly from an estate, no chemicals, just produce straight from our land by the Kaveri.
