It all started with a passion for real, home-cooked flavours. See how we grew from a small kitchen setup in Nagavarapalya into the market-favourite pickles you enjoy today.

A look back at our journey, from designing labels on a laptop to our first stalls. It all started with a passion for real food.

This was one of my very first stalls. I was so excited to share my homemade pickles with everyone.

Another memory from an early market day at Golden Blossom Apartments. This is where it all began.

The whole family involved from the very beginning. Here's my son and husband helping out at an early stall.

A happy moment from one of our first market experiences. It's always been a family affair.

Even the youngest family members were curious about our pickle stall. These are cherished memories.

A throwback to one of our early Christmas market stalls. It's been a wonderful journey of growth.

Interacting with customers at one of our first stalls. The positive feedback from the start encouraged me to continue.

Another shot from an early market day. I've always loved the direct connection with the people who eat my food.

Offering a sample to a customer in the early days. Letting people taste the quality has always been my best marketing.

About The Pikkle Shikkle Journey

When I first started this, my biggest challenge was not the recipe, it was learning how to bottle the taste of home without using a single preservative. I still hand-grind every spice and sun-dry our pickles in small, manageable batches, just like I did in my original kitchen setup before we ever hit the markets.

My journey began at 60. I did not see it as retirement, but rather a fresh start to bring the authentic taste of Punjab to Bengaluru. It started with a laptop, a few jars, and old family recipes.

We spent those early days designing our own labels and setting up at local markets like Freedom Park. It was never just about selling jars, it was about the conversation at our stall. I wanted people to taste the difference that patience makes.

Every jar we make follows the same principles I started with:

  • Small Batches: We never mass-produce. Everything is made in quantities that allow me to taste and check each one personally.
  • Natural Ingredients: From our spicy mango to our garlic crush, you will find no chemicals, no fake colours, and no preservatives. We use farm-fresh produce and sun-dry everything in our Nagavarapalya kitchen.
  • Family First: This has always been a family affair. Whether it was my husband Ekbal helping with the setup or my son assisting at the stalls, the support of my family is what keeps the kitchen running.

Today, we ship across India, but the heart of what we do remains the same. Whether you pick up a jar of our Mixed Veg pickle or a pack of our traditional Punjabi mathri, you are getting the same quality that we feed our own family. If you are ever in Bengaluru, come by our kitchen or catch us at a market stall. I love letting people try a sample before they buy, as it is the only way to truly know what authentic Punjabi taste is all about.

Hi, I am Gurdeep Kaur. I started this journey after 60, not because I had to, but because I wanted to share the taste of real Punjabi pickles. My husband Ekbal and I run this kitchen together, making sure every jar you receive tastes exactly like the ones I grew up with in Punjab.
