About Large Animal Sanctuary & Rehabilitation
Why We Do What We Do
For a lot of big animals, life’s been tough. Once they’re not useful, most get dumped or hurt. At our sanctuary, I call it a forever ghar, we’ve got over 120 residents - cows, buffaloes, donkeys, horses, goats, sheep - living in peace, not as labour but as family. Our only promise: second chances, no drama.
Who Lives Here
Every animal here’s got a backstory. Some were straight up abandoned, kuch toh sadak pe chhod diya tha (some were just left on the street). Some, like horses from wedding gigs, came after years of abuse - spiked bits, heavy loads. Others, like Manohar the calf, survived nasty accidents. We’re all about large animal trauma recovery, not just shelter.
What We Do Daily
Life here is simple, but not easy. The work is heavy, but seeing the animals heal makes it worth it.
- Free grazing - no chains, no stress.
- Expert vet care - fracture treatment, wounds, old age issues, sab kuch (everything).
- Nutritious food - always scrambling for fresh fodder.
- Socializing - letting them form natural herds, it’s key for their emotional health.
- Loads of grooming, cuddles, and proper attention.
How You Can Join In
You can sponsor a resident for their food and medical bills, or come spend time with them - prepping meals, cleaning, or just giving some pyaar (love). We love folks who want to see what humane retirement for working animals actually looks like.

My Story
We’re CUPA – Compassion Unlimited Plus Action. Started out in Bangalore 30 years ago, just couldn’t turn away from animals hurting on the streets. Not just a job, this is our life. Some days break us, like seeing an old dog dumped by family, or a kitten run over. But then, a puppy finds a home, or someone like Sharadha didi takes in strays, and our faith comes back. We’re vets, rescuers, volunteers – fighting for every animal’s second chance.
My Work
What We Do - Rescue street animals, trauma care, subsidized spay/neuter, adoptions, large animal sanctuary, legal advocacy, and pet vet care.
Emergency Animal Rescue - Sick, injured, or abused animals? We’re there, day or night. Our trauma centers handle tough cases, never giving up.
Adopt a Friend - Dogs, cats, seniors, special-needs babies – all waiting for family. Adopt senior dogs Bangalore and change a life.
Spay & Neuter Programs - We run subsidized spay neuter programs for street cats and dogs. It’s the only way to control population, humanely.
Large Animal Sanctuary - Cows, donkeys, horses, bulls – our large animal sanctuary Karnataka gives them peace after rough lives.
Cruelty Prevention & Legal Help - Our legal team fights cruelty, illegal breeding, and helps animal feeders. We push for better laws, always.
Pet Hospital for All - Bring your pets to our hospital. Vet care, grooming, all proceeds go back to our rescues.
