Volunteer at Our Large Animal Sanctuary
Spend a half-day at our Bangalore sanctuary helping our rescues get the care they need. From grooming to meal prep, every pair of hands makes a massive difference.
We were thrilled to host a team from Goldman Sachs. They spent the day helping with meal prep for over 80 animals and grooming our rescues, providing significant help to our daily routine.
It was wonderful having students from Stonehill International School volunteer with us. They spent the day spoiling our large animals with love and got to see firsthand how we provide treatment and care.
The team from HCL Foundation celebrated Earth Day with us. They painted earthen pots to use as water bowls and spent quality time with our dogs and large animals, making the day special for everyone.
About this collection
Volunteering here isn't just about petting animals; it’s about rolling up your sleeves for the tasks that keep our sanctuary running. Whether you're part of a corporate team or an individual, you’ll be helping with essential daily work like chopping fodder, preparing mash, or grooming our residents. It’s a chance to give our permanent staff a much-needed hand while ensuring our animals get the extra love and attention they crave.
Life at our Large Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Center (LARRC) in Gnana Bharathi is non-stop. We look after over 120 residents—cows, horses, donkeys, and more—who have come to us after years of struggle. When you volunteer, you aren't just visiting; you're becoming part of the herd's support system.
Corporate teams often look for meaningful ways to engage with social causes, and a half-day with us provides exactly that. You will be working alongside our welfare officers to maintain a humane environment. Tasks often include painting water pots, mucking out enclosures, or managing fodder distribution. It is physically engaging work, but it is the most honest way to see the impact of compassionate action.
We provide all the necessary tools and guidance, ensuring your time here is safe and productive. You get to see firsthand what humane retirement for working animals looks like, moving away from labor to a life of peace. If you want to move beyond just donating and actually spend a morning in the dirt working for the voiceless, this is where you start.
Cupa
We are CUPA—a team of vets, rescuers, and volunteers in Bangalore who decided three decades ago that we couldn't turn away from animals in pain. We built this sanctuary so our large animal residents could finally stop being treated as labor and start living as family.
